2021–22 Indiana Pacers Season
The 2021–22 Indiana Pacers season was the 55th season of the franchise and the 46th season in the National Basketball Association (NBA). After the Pacers failed to make the NBA playoffs for the first time since 2015, Nate Bjorkgren was fired on June 9, 2021. The Pacers would later re-hire Rick Carlisle back as the new head coach, reuniting him with the Pacers for their second stint after coaching the team from 2003 to 2007 after coaching 13 seasons with the Dallas Mavericks. The Pacers missed the playoffs for the second consecutive season which would be the first time since 2007–10 that they missed the playoffs in consecutive seasons. During the trade deadline, the Pacers acquired Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield in a deal surrounding Domantas Sabonis. The team also acquired the services of Jalen Smith. Rick Carlisle
Richard Preston Carlisle ( ; born October 27, 1959) is an American basketball coach and former player who is the head coach for the Indiana Pacers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He has previously served as head coach of the Detroit Pistons and Dallas Mavericks, winning the 2011 NBA Finals with the latter. As a player, Carlisle played for the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, and New Jersey Nets. He is one of only 14 people to win an NBA championship as both a player and a coach. Playing career Carlisle was raised in Lisbon, New York. He attended Lisbon Central High School, then spent a year at Worcester Academy. Buddy Hield
Chavano Rainer "Buddy" Hield ( ; born December 17, 1992) is a Bahamian professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Oklahoma Sooners and was named the Big 12 Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year in 2015 and 2016. In 2016, Hield received four major national player of the year awards: the John R. Wooden Award, the Naismith Award, ''Sporting News'' Player of the Year, and the Oscar Robertson Trophy. Jenny Boucek
Jennifer Dawn Boucek ( ; born December 20, 1973) is an American basketball coach and a former player. Boucek played college basketball for the University of Virginia and later professionally for the Cleveland Rockers in the WNBA and Keflavík in Iceland where she won both the national championship and the national cup, as well as being named the Foreign Player of the Year. Boucek started her coaching career in 1999 as an assistant with the Washington Mystics. She later served as an assistant for the Miami Sol and the Seattle Storm before being named the head coach of the Sacramento Monarchs in 2007. Alexander "Sandro" Mamukelashvili ( ka, ალექსანდრე "სანდრო" მამუკელაშვილი; born 23 May 1999) is a Georgian-American professional basketball player for the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association (NBA). NBA All-Rookie Team
The NBA All-Rookie Team is an annual National Basketball Association (NBA) honor given since the 1962–63 NBA season to the top rookies during the regular season. Voting is conducted by the NBA head coaches who are not allowed to vote for players on their own team.
