2021–22 Colonial Athletic Association Men's Basketball Season
The 2021–22 CAA men's basketball season is the 36th season of Colonial Athletic Association basketball, taking place between November 2021 and March 2022. Practices began in October 2021, and the season ended with the 2022 CAA men's basketball tournament. This is the final CAA season for James Madison, which joins the Sun Belt Conference on July 1, 2022. National Collegiate Athletic Association
The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is a nonprofit organization that regulates student athletics among about 1,100 schools in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. It also organizes the athletic programs of colleges and universities in the United States and Canada and helps over 500,000 college student athletes who compete annually in college sports. The organization is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. Until 1957, the NCAA was a single division for all schools. The Winthrop Eagles men's basketball team represents Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina, United States and competes in the Big South Conference. The Pittsburgh Panthers men's basketball team is the NCAA Division I intercollegiate men's basketball program of the University of Pittsburgh, often referred to as "Pitt", located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Pat Skerry
Patrick Joseph Skerry (born January 21, 1970) is the head coach of the Towson University Tigers men's basketball team. Biography Playing career Skerry played collegiate basketball at Tufts University where he set the school record for career assists (634) and single-season assists (198). Coaching career After graduation, Skerry joined his alma mater's coaching staff, where he spent three seasons before moving on to Stonehill College for the 1995–96 season. A year later he took his first head coaching job at Curry College at the age of 26. In two seasons at the helm of the Colonials, Skerry compiled a 24–25 record. The Boston College Eagles are a Division I college basketball program that represents Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, United States. Mark Byington
Mark Byington (born April 22, 1976) is an American basketball coach and former college basketball player. He is the head men's basketball coach at James Madison University. High school playing career Mark Byington played high school basketball at Salem High School located in Salem, Virginia. He led the Salem Spartans coached by current Dobyns-Bennett head coach Charlie Morgan to a 26–1 record in the 1993–94 season and to the Group AA state championship defeating Louisa County. His #32 jersey has since been retired by Salem High School along with #11 Richard Morgan, who was an All-American. The Hofstra Pride men's basketball team is the basketball team that represents Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, United States. Mike Schrage (born April 2, 1976) is an American basketball coach, currently a Special Assistant to the Head Coach at Duke University. He was formerly the head coach for the Elon Phoenix men's basketball team. He has a wife (Amanda) and two children (Andrew and Sophie) Coaching career While a student at Indiana University Bloomington, Schrage was a manager and student assistant with the men's basketball team.
