2021–22 Clemson Tigers Men's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Clemson Tigers men's basketball team represented Clemson University during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Tigers were led by twelfth-year head coach Brad Brownell and played their home games at Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson, South Carolina as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Tigers finished the season 17–16 overall and 8–12 in ACC play to finish in tenth place. As the tenth seed in the ACC tournament, they defeated fifteenth seed NC State in the first round before losing to seventh seed, and eventual champions Virginia Tech in the second round. They were not invited to the NCAA tournament or the NIT. Previous season The Tigers finished the 2020–21 season 16–8, 10–6 in ACC play to finish in a tie for fifth place. Brad Brownell
Bradley Robert Brownell (born November 15, 1968) is an American college basketball coach and most recently the previous head basketball coach at Clemson University. Prior to coming to Clemson, he held the same position at Wright State and UNC Wilmington. He has most recently coached his 13th season at Clemson, losing in the first round of the NIT tournament to Morehead State. Early life Born in Evansville, Indiana, Brownell played high school basketball at William Henry Harrison High School with current Indiana Pacers assistant of player development and Indiana University player Calbert Cheaney. Brownell graduated from DePauw University in 1991, where he was a member of the basketball team and the Sigma Chi fraternity. He immediately went into coaching after graduating. 2021 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2021 ACC men's basketball tournament (officially the 2021 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament Presented by New York Life) was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Atlantic Coast Conference and held at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina, from March 9 to 13, 2021. It was the 68th annual edition of the tournament. The 2021 Atlantic Coast Conference basketball tournament was originally scheduled to be hosted at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament was moved to the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina, on November 24, 2020. Capital One Arena will host the tournament in 2024. Virginia and Duke elected to withdraw from the tournament due to some of their players testing positive for COVID-19. John Newman III
John Edward Newman III (born August 2, 1999) is an American college basketball player for the Cincinnati Bearcats of the American Athletic Conference (AAC). He previously played for the Clemson Tigers. Early life and high school career Newman attended Greensboro Day School. He helped the team win three state titles, scoring 24 points and was named MVP of the NCISAA 3A State Championship game. As a senior, Newman averaged 14.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. He was named to the Associated Press North Carolina All-State Team and finished his high school career with 1,400 points, 500 rebounds, 200 assists, and 100 steals. The Marquette Golden Eagles men's basketball team (formerly the Marquette Hilltoppers and Marquette Warriors) represents Marquette University in NCAA Division I college basketball and competes in the Big East Conference. Olivier-Maxence Prosper ( ; born July 3, 2002) is a Canadian professional basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Clemson Tigers and the Marquette Golden Eagles. Early life and high school Prosper grew up in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Prosper's father Gaetan moved to Montreal from Haiti as a child. He initially attended L'Académie Ste-Thérèse, which did not have a basketball team. Charlotte 49ers Men's Basketball
The Charlotte 49ers men's basketball team represents the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte) in NCAA Division I basketball. The 49ers are charter members of Conference USA. Charlotte returned to C-USA in 2013 after leaving in 2005 to join the Atlantic 10 Conference.
