2021–22 ASUN Conference Men's Basketball Season
The 2021–22 ASUN Conference men's basketball season started non-conference play on November 9, 2021, and began conference play on January 4, 2022. The regular season ended on February 26, 2022, followed by the 2022 ASUN men's basketball tournament held March 1–8, 2022. The conference's regular season champions, the Jacksonville State Gamecocks, were awarded the conference's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. The conference tournament was won by the Bellarmine Knights, who were ineligible for the NCAA tournament due to their transitional status moving from NCAA Division II to NCAA Division I. Wyoming Cowboys Basketball
The University of Wyoming men's basketball program, which competes in the Mountain West Conference, has a lengthy tradition dating back to 1905. Antonio Javier Pujol is an American college basketball coach, and the current head coach of the North Alabama Lions men's basketball team. Playing career Pujol played both basketball and baseball at Sterling College in Kansas, where he earned all-conference honors in baseball three-straight seasons. Coaching career Pujol's coaching career began in 1992 when he became the head boys basketball coach at La Progresiva Presbyterian HS in Miami, Florida. Lennie Acuff (born January 24, 1965) is an American basketball coach, currently head coach of the Lipscomb Bisons men's basketball team. Playing career Acuff attended Shorter College where he set the single game, single season and career record for assists, which still stand to this day. Coaching career At 25, Acuff landed his first head coaching job with Belhaven College where he posted a 31–35 record over two seasons. Ritchie Lawrence McKay (born April 22, 1965) is an American basketball coach who is in his second stint as the head coach of the Liberty Flames of Liberty University. McKay for the last 6 seasons had been the associate head coach to Tony Bennett for the Virginia Cavaliers at the University of Virginia. He had previously been the head coach of the University of New Mexico, Oregon State, Colorado State, Portland State, and Liberty. Amir Abdur-Rahim (born March 18, 1981) is a former American basketball player and current coach. He is the head coach of the Kennesaw State Owls men's basketball team. Playing career Amir Abdur-Rahim played at Joseph Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia. Lilburn Ray Harper Jr. (born October 11, 1961) is an American college basketball coach, currently head coach for Jacksonville State University.
