STV Rugby
''STV Rugby'' is a Scottish regional television programme featuring highlights of Pro12 rugby matches involving Edinburgh Rugby and Glasgow Warriors. The programme, produced by the STV News department in Glasgow, was first broadcast in the 2009/10 season after a deal with the Celtic League Association, Scottish Rugby and STV was reached, following the closure of Setanta Sports in the UK. Magners League rugby returned to STV for the 2010/11 season, under the new name of '' Sports Centre: Rugby''. The ''STV Rugby'' brand returned for the 2011/12 season, after ''Sports Centre'' was axed. The 2012/2013 season was the last to be covered by ''STV Rugby''. Broadcasts The hour-long highlights programme was broadcast on Sunday afternoons during the Celtic League season and was available online on the STV Player after transmission. Take The High Road
''Take the High Road'' (renamed ''High Road'' from 1994 to 2003) was a Scottish soap opera produced by Scottish Television, which started in February 1980 as an ITV network daytime programme, and was broadcast until 2003. It was set in the fictional village of Glendarroch, and exteriors were filmed in the real-life village of Luss on the banks of Loch Lomond. The series was dropped by most ITV stations in the 1990s – the Scottish, Grampian, Border and Ulster stations continued to screen it until the last episode. From April 2020, the entire series is being made available free to view on the STV Player app. History Origins In 1979, the ITV network decided that its daytime schedule would be improved by the inclusion of a soap opera set in Scotland. Andy Gray (actor)
Andy Gray (13 September 1959 – 18 January 2021) was a Scottish actor and writer from Perth, Scotland. He appeared on stage and TV, including starring roles in the BBC series ''Naked Video'', ''City Lights'', and ''River City''. Education He trained in Drama at Edinburgh's Queen Margaret University from 1976 to 1979. Career Gray starred in the BBC Radio Scotland sketch show ''Naked Radio'', and its later television counterpart ''Naked Video''. He then became well known as the appropriately named "Chancer", best friend and source of problems to Willie Melvin (Gerard Kelly) in the 1987 sitcom ''City Lights''. He was well known for pantomiming, usually co-writing the script and often alongside other former ''City Lights'' cast members. He appeared opposite Kelly in a touring production of ''The Odd Couple''. A View From The Terrace
''A View from the Terrace'' is a Scottish football magazine and factual television television series. It is broadcast on BBC Scotland and repeated on BBC One in Scotland. The show is produced by creative agency Studio Something and is adapted from the long-running podcast ''The Terrace''. History The show was launched in the opening week of the new BBC Scotland channel. It is hosted by Craig G. Telfer and features the recurring cast of Craig Fowler, Joel Sked, Shaughan McGuigan and Robert Borthwick. The panel take a loving and scathing look at Scottish football from the top of the leagues to the bottom as well as exploring the culture that surrounds the game in Scotland. Each show is built around studio debate as well as number of outside VTs that explore the further culture of the game. Debate Night
Debate Night is BBC Scotland's flagship current affairs debate show, hosted by Stephen Jardine, which airs on Wednesdays nights. History Stephen Jardine was named as the host on 15 February 2019 ahead of the launch of the new BBC Scotland channel on 24 February 2019. The show first aired on Wednesday 27 February 2019 with a 10.45pm start time, with an initial run of 24 episodes. In April 2019, BBC Scotland announced a move to airing the programme on Sunday nights at 10pm. In September 2020, due to coronavirus restrictions, changes were made for the audience to participate by videoconference links. On 29 September 2021 audience participation in person restarted with a show in Edinburgh. Shows were aired on Wednesdays on BBC Scotland at 10:30 pm and on BBC One Scotland at midnight. The Nine (BBC Scotland)
''The Nine'' (also known as ''The Seven'') is a Scottish news bulletin on the BBC Scotland channel which started on 25 February 2019, and is the channel's flagship news programme. Broadcast Produced by BBC News, the 60-minute programme is broadcast on BBC Scotland at 9:00pm. The Friday and Weekend edition of the programme is aired at 7:00pm and lasts for a shorter 30 minutes on Fridays and 15 minutes on weekends. ''Molly and Mack'' is a British children's television series that began airing on CBeebies in 2018. It ran for five seasons. The show airs on ABC Kids in Australia. Premise The show centres around an 11-year-old girl named Molly (played by Mimi Robertson) who spends the summer helping her 19-year-old brother Mack (played by Joshua Haynes) at a toy stall in The Big Hub, a community hall in the fictional Scottish town of Bridgetown. Two Doors Down (TV Series)
''Two Doors Down'' is a Scottish television sitcom, produced by BBC Studios. It was created by Simon Carlyle and Gregor Sharp, and stars Arabella Weir, Alex Norton, Doon Mackichan, Jonathan Watson and Elaine C. Smith as neighbours in a suburban street in Scotland. Following a one-off Hogmanay special broadcast nationwide on BBC One in late 2013, a full series was commissioned, and began airing on BBC Two in April 2016, with a second that November. A third series in 2018 (and a 2017 Christmas special) and a fourth in 2019 followed. ''Scot Squad'' is a British television mockumentary series about a fictional Scottish police force, made in a fly on the wall style. The show first aired on 27 October 2014 on BBC One Scotland. The show has aired seven series, including specials, on the channel. As of series 8, which began on 5 January 2023, the show airs on BBC Scotland channel. The show is directed by Iain Davidson and is narrated by Joe Hullait. Former '' Absolutely'' star Jack Docherty plays the fictional force's police chief.
