2021 Women's Trans-Tasman Hockey Series
The 2021 Trans–Tasman Hockey Series was a field hockey series, comprising four test matches between the national teams of Australia and New Zealand. The series was held at Massey University in Palmerston North, from 27 May to 1 June. Due to the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the series was the first time the two teams played an international match since March 2020, in their respective FIH Pro League matches. The series was held simultaneously with a men's event. Amy Rose Lawton (born 19 January 2002) is an Australian field hockey player. Personal life Amy Lawton was born in Worthing, England before relocating to Emerald, Victoria at the age of 7 with her parents and younger sister. She began playing hockey at nine years of age for her local club Casey, before moving to Cheltenham-based Southern United Hockey Club two years later. As well as hockey, Lawton also plays soccer and competes in triathlons, and has made representative teams for Victoria in all three sports. Lawton is a current scholarship holder at the Victorian Institute of Sport. Jocelyn Bartram
Jocelyn Bartram (born 4 May 1993) is an Australian field hockey player. She plays as a goalkeeper for the Australian women's national field hockey team. Early life and education Jocelyn Bartram is from Albury–Wodonga ("The Border"), Australia. Bartram was an active child, playing field hockey, soccer, water polo, basketball and tennis during her youth. Her mother, father and brother also played hockey. Bartram commenced her studies focusing on Sports Science through Sydney's University of Technology. More recently she has transferred her sports science studies to Edith Cowen University in Perth, in conjunction with her move to Perth for her permanent placement in the Hockeyroos squad. Jane Claxton (born 26 October 1992) is an Australian field hockey player for Australia. Claxton was a member of the Australia women's national field hockey team that were defeated by the Netherlands women's national field hockey team in the final of the 2014 Women's Hockey World Cup, a Gold Medal winner at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and member of the team that went to the 2016 Summer Olympics. Courtney Schonell (born 17 September 2000) is an Australian field hockey player, who plays as a forward. Personal life Courtney Schonell was born and raised in Narellan Vale, New South Wales, and grew up in the neighbouring suburb of Mount Annan. Schonell is a former student of St. Benedict's Catholic College in Oran Park. Kaitlin Nobbs (born 24 September 1997) is an Australian field hockey player. She has played for the Australian national team, the Hockeyroos. Early life Nobbs is the daughter of Australian field hockey players Michael Nobbs and Lee Capes. Her father played in the 1984 Summer Olympics and coached the Indian men's team at the 2012 Summer Olympics, while her mother won the gold medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Edwina Claire Bone (born 29 April 1988) is an Australian field hockey player. Her regular position is as a defender. Bone was a member of the Australia women's national field hockey team that were runners-up at the 2014 Women's Hockey World Cup. She was a member of the Australian team that defeated England in the women's field hockey final at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Greta Hayes (born 17 October 1996) is an Australian field hockey player. Career Junior National Team Hayes first represented Australia's Under 21 side, the Jillaroos, at the 2016 Junior Oceania Cup. Meg Pearce (born 1 July 1994) is an Australian field hockey player, who plays as a defender and midfielder. Personal life Meg Pearce grew up in Melbourne, Victoria (Australia), Victoria. Her father participates in Ironman (surf lifesaving), Ironman events, and her mother runs in marathons. Madison Fitzpatrick (born 14 December 1996) is an Australian field hockey player. Fitzpatrick was born in Wollongong, and made her senior international debut in a test series against Korea in September 2015. Fitzpatrick was part of the Australian women's junior national team 'The Jillaroos' that won bronze at the 2016 Hockey Junior World Cup in Chile, as well as the Jillaroos team at the 2013 Hockey Junior World Cup.
