2021 Tour De La Provence
The 2021 Tour de la Provence was a road cycling stage race that took place between 11 and 14 February 2021 in the French region of Provence. The race is rated as a 2.Pro event as part of the 2021 UCI Europe Tour and the 2021 UCI ProSeries, and was the sixth edition of the Tour de la Provence cycling race. Teams Fourteen of the nineteen UCI WorldTeams, four UCI ProTeams, and two UCI Continental teams made up the twenty teams that participated in the race. Each team entered a roster of seven riders, for a total of 139 starters, after Serbian rider Dušan Rajović of was a last-minute non-starter. 133 riders finished the race. 2021 UCI Europe Tour
The 2021 UCI Europe Tour was the 17th season of the UCI Europe Tour. The season began on 24 January 2021 with the Trofeo Luis Puig, Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana 1969 – Gran Premio Valencia and ended on 24 October 2021 with the Ronde van Drenthe. Throughout the season, points were awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determined how many points are awarded to the top finishers; the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points were awarded. UCI Professional Continental
The UCI Continental Circuits are a series of road bicycle racing competitions which were introduced in 2005 by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) to expand cycling around the world. The five circuits (representing the continents of Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania) are ranked below the UCI World Tour and, as of 2020, the UCI ProSeries The UCI ProSeries is the second tier men's elite road cycling tour. Chalet Reynard
Chalet Reynard is a former refuge turned into a restaurant at the foot of a ski resort, at an altitude of , on the southern face of Mont Ventoux, in the department of Vaucluse, France. The station was created in February 1927 by . Access Chalet Reynard is located at the intersection of the RD 974 road, connecting Bédoin to the summit of Mount Ventoux, and RD 164 joining Sault. The routes from Sault and Bédoin are accessible throughout the year. However, much of the route up Mount Ventoux is closed to traffic in winter, from November 15 to March 15, for weather reasons. Sport Winter Sport In winter, the station uses two ski lifts to reach six ski slopes, red and blue, for a total of of alpine skiing. Mont Ventoux
Mont Ventoux (; oc, Ventor, label= Provençal ) is a mountain in the Provence region of southern France, located some northeast of Carpentras, Vaucluse. On the north side, the mountain borders the department of Drôme. At , it is the highest mountain in the region and has been nicknamed the "Beast of Provence", the "Giant of Provence", or "The Bald Mountain". It has gained fame through its inclusion in the Tour de France cycling race; in 2009 it was the scene of the first penultimate-day mountain top finish in the Tour de France, with Alberto Contador sealing his yellow jersey. As the name might suggest (''venteux'' means windy in French), it can get windy at the summit, especially with the ''mistral''; wind speeds as high as have been recorded. Istres
Istres (; Occitan: Istre) is a commune in southern France, some 60 km (38 mi) northwest of Marseille. It is in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, in the Bouches-du-Rhône department, of which it is a subprefecture. Manosque
Manosque (; Provençal Occitan: ''Manòsca'' in classical norm or ''Manosco'' in Mistralian norm) is the largest town and commune in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in southeastern France. However, it is not the ''préfecture'' (capital) of the department, which is the smaller town of Digne-les-Bains. Manosque is located at the far eastern end of the Luberon near the Durance river. History Manosque has existed since before 966 when it is first mentioned historically. Commerce thrived in the town in the 13th century leading the population to increase to 10,000 inhabitants. It was at this time that the city walls were constructed. They have been completely destroyed apart from a few remaining gates. Cassis
Cassis (; Occitan: ''Cassís'') is a commune situated east of Marseille in the department of Bouches-du-Rhône in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, whose coastline is known in English as the French Riviera, in Southern France. Six-Fours-les-Plages (; oc, Sièis Forns lei Plaias, Sièis Four in provençal), is a Communes of France, commune in the Var (département), Var Departments of France, department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Regions of France, region in southeastern France.
