2021 Queensland Cup
The 2021 Queensland Cup season was the 26th season of Queensland's top-level statewide rugby league competition run by the Queensland Rugby League. The 2021 season saw the return of the competition, after it was cancelled after just one round in 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Queensland Cup was to be played over 19 rounds in 2021, but due to restrictions and difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in Queensland, has been reduced to 18 rounds, with the finals delayed into October. Teams In 2021, the line-up of teams remains unchanged for the seventh consecutive season. On 4 September 2020, the Easts Tigers announced that they would be rebranding and playing as the Brisbane Tigers from the 2021 season onward. Norths Devils
The Northern Suburbs Devils, or North Brisbane Devils, or often simply referred to as Norths for short, are a rugby league club representing the northern suburbs of Brisbane, Australia. The team colours are sky blue, navy blue and gold. They play in the Queensland Wizard Cup, and, through their predecessors, are one of the oldest clubs in Australia. Guy Williams (rugby League)
Guy Williams (born 28 April 1984), is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who last played for the Lézignan Sangliers in the Elite One Championship and previously the Brisbane Broncos in the NRL competition. He played as a utility back or in the second row. Playing career Williams made his first grade debut for Brisbane in Round 15 2009 against Cronulla which ended in a 46-12 loss. Williams went on to play for the Central Comets in the Queensland Cup. In 2011, Williams left Central Comets and moved to France where he captained Toulouse Olympique. Browne Park
Browne Park is a rectangular football stadium located in the Rockhampton suburb of Wandal, Queensland, Australia. The venue has been the home of rugby football in Central Queensland since 1890 and today also hosts rugby union and soccer matches. It hosted a match of the 2008 Rugby League World Cup. The ground was named Browne Park in 1958 as a posthumous honour to long serving president of Rockhampton Rugby League, Jack Browne who died in office. Central Queensland Capras
Central Queensland Capras are a semi-professional rugby league football club primarily based in Rockhampton, Queensland and representing Central Queensland. They currently play in the Queensland Cup, the premier rugby league competition in Queensland. From 2023, they will serve as one of the feeder clubs for the Dolphins. Luke Page (born 12 January 1991) is a former Papua New Guinea international rugby league footballer who last played as a for the Burleigh Bears in the Queensland Cup. Page played one National Rugby League match in his career, for the St. George Illawarra Dragons in 2015. Rick Stone (born 14 February 1967) is a professional rugby league football coach and former player. He has coached the Newcastle Knights in the National Rugby League, the Huddersfield Giants in the Super League, the Sydney Roosters in the NRL Women's Premiership, and the Fiji national rugby league team, Fijian and Lebanon national rugby league team, Lebanese national teams. The Burleigh Bears are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in Gold Coast, Australia. They compete in Queensland's top rugby league competition, the Queensland Cup. Melbourne Storm
The Melbourne Storm are a rugby league club based in Melbourne, Victoria in Australia that participates in the National Rugby League. The first fully professional rugby league team based in the state, the Storm entered the competition in 1998. The Storm were originally a Super League initiative, created in 1997 during the Super League war, however, following the Super League collapse, the team became a part of the newly formed, united competition.
