The 2021 Queen's Club Championships (also known as the cinch Championships for sponsorship reasons) was a tennis tournament played on outdoor grass courts at the Queen's Club in London, United Kingdom from 14 to 20 June 2021. Grass Court
A grass court is one of the four different types of tennis court on which the sport of tennis, originally known as "lawn tennis", is played. Grass courts are made of grasses in different compositions depending on the tournament. Although grass courts are more traditional than other types of tennis courts, maintenance costs of grass courts are higher than those of hard courts and clay courts. Grass courts (in the absence of suitable covers) must be left for the day if rain appears, as the grass becomes very slippery when wet and will not dry for many hours. This is a disadvantage on outdoor courts compared to using hard and clay surfaces, where play can resume in 30 to 120 minutes after the end of rain. John Peers
John William Peers (born 25 July 1988) is an Australian professional tennis player who specialises in doubles. He won his first Grand Slam title at the 2017 Australian Open, where he and Henri Kontinen won the men's doubles event. Peers also finished runner up at the Wimbledon Championships and US Open in 2015 alongside Jamie Murray, and at the 2019 Australian Open with Kontinen. He is also a Grand Slam champion in mixed doubles, winning the 2022 US Open alongside fellow Australian Storm Sanders. Peers reached his career-high ATP doubles ranking of world No. 2 on 3 April 2017, and his career-high singles ranking is world No. 456 in June 2012. Jack Alexander Draper (born 22 December 2001) is a British professional tennis player. He has been ranked as high as world No. 38 in singles by the ATP, which he achieved on 16 January 2023, and he also attained a career-high doubles ranking of world No. 477 on 14 February 2022. Liam Tarquin Broady (born 4 January 1994) is a tennis player and current British No. 6. A wild card (also wildcard or wild-card and also known as an at-large berth or at-large bid) is a tournament or playoff berth awarded to an individual or team that fails to qualify in the normal way; for example, by having a high ranking or winning a qualifying stage.
