2021 Marshall Thundering Herd Men's Soccer Team
The 2021 Marshall Thundering Herd men's soccer team represented Marshall University in men's college soccer during the 2021 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. It was the 43rd season the university fielded a men's varsity soccer program. The Thundering Herd, led by fifth-year head coach Chris Grassie, played their home games at Veterans Memorial Soccer Complex as members of Conference USA (C-USA). Chris Grassie
Chris Grassie (born 21 September 1978) is an English football coach who is currently the head coach of the Marshall University men's soccer team. During his tenure as coach of the Herd, he led the program to 3 Conference USA trophies, 1 Sun Belt Conference trophy, and the 2020 NCAA National Championship. Playing career As a player at Alderson Broaddus, Grassie was named to the all-conference team multiple times and was a team captain. He majored in political science and history. Grassie played in England from 2002 to 2003 with Northwich Victoria F.C. Coaching career Grassie began his coaching career as an assistant at his alma mater, Alderson Broaddus University in Philippi, West Virginia. After one season, he became a graduate assistant at Marshall University under coach Bob Gray from 2004-2006. The East Tennessee State Buccaneers men's soccer team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee, United States. The team is a member of the Southern Conference, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. ETSU's first men's soccer team was fielded in 2008. 2021 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers Men's Soccer Team
The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers men's soccer team represents Coastal Carolina University in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. The team competes in the Sun Belt Conference, following previous tenures in Conference USA and Big South Conference, both of which had been prior conference homes for that ream. During their Big South tenure, the Chanticleers were one of that league's more successful teams, both within the conference and in the NCAA Tournament. In 2003, the Chanticleers became the first Big South team to reach the final sixteen in the tournament. The Charleston Golden Eagles, known previously as the Harvey Mudd Golden Eagles, are the athletic teams that represent the University of Charleston, located in Charleston, West Virginia, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. Dorrance Field is the on-campus soccer and lacrosse stadium at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The stadium was constructed on the site of the old Fetzer Field.
