2021 Lamar Lady Cardinals Softball Team
The 2021 Lamar Lady Cardinals softball team represented Lamar University during the 2021 NCAA Division I softball season. The Lady Cardinals played their home games at Lamar Softball Complex and were led by third-year head coach Amy Hooks. They were members of the Southland Conference. Home game attendance for the 2021 season was limited to 119 per game due to COVID19 precautions. Amy Hooks
Amy Deanne Hooks (born November 19, 1988) is an American college softball coach and former catcher who is the current head coach at Lamar Lady Cardinals softball, Lamar. Prior to her position at Lamar, she served as assistant softball coach for six seasons at Northwestern State Lady Demons softball, Northwestern State. Playing career High school Born in Dallas and raised in Mesquite, Texas, Hooks played varsity softball and volleyball at North Mesquite High School. In softball, she earned several awards including being named as an All-District first team player in District 12-5A three times. She was named District 12-5A Offensive player of the year twice (2004 and 2006) and District 12-5A Defensive player of the year once (2003). In volleyball, she was named to the All-District 12-5A first team and was named to the State All-Academic team in 2006. The 2021 Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns softball team represented the University of Louisiana at Lafayette during the 2021 NCAA Division I softball season. Cougar Softball Stadium, formerly known as Cougar Softball Field and Cougar Softball Complex, is the home field for the Houston Cougars softball team located on the campus of the University of Houston in Houston, Texas. The Houston Cougars softball team is the college softball team of the University of Houston. The team is a member of the Big 12 Conference as a Division I (NCAA), Division I team. In sports, a utility player is one who can play several positions competently. Sports in which the term is often used include association football, American football, baseball, rugby union, rugby league, softball, ice hockey, and water polo.
