2021 Italian Athletics Championships
The 2021 Italian Athletics Championships was the 111st edition of the Italian Athletics Championships which took place in Rovereto from 25 to 27 June. It is the second edition held in this town, after 2014 Italian Athletics Championships, 2014 edition. 10 km Racewalking will be held in with arrival outside the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto. However national racewalking titles were also awarded earlier. 10,000 m championships were held in Molfetta on 2 May. Teodorico Caporaso (born 14 September 1987) is a male Italian racewalker who won four international medals at senior level at the race walk competitions. He competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in 50 km walk. Biography He competed in the 50 kilometres walk event at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics in Beijing, China. In 2019, he competed in the men's 50 kilometres walk at the 2019 World Athletics Championships held in Doha, Qatar. He did not finish his race. He won his first national title on 50 km with a time of 4:01:04 in Ostia on 23 January 2021. Anna Bongiorni (born 15 September 1993) is an Italian sprinter, whose most prestigious achievement at the international individual senior level is the bronze medal at the Universiade (in 200 m in 2018). Athletics At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Qualification
For the athletics at the 2020 Summer Olympics competitions, the following qualification systems are in place. Qualification ended on 29 June 2021, but for marathon and 50 km race walking, it already ended on 31 May 2021. Some 1900 athletes, from 196 countries, will compete. 103 countries are qualified also through Universality places (initially 101, 61 men and 40 women). Qualifying standards A National Olympic Committee (NOC) may enter up to 3 qualified athletes in each individual event if all athletes meet the entry standard during the qualifying period. An NOC may also enter a maximum of 1 qualified relay team per event. Under the universality rule, NOCs may enter one male athlete and one female athlete, regardless of time, if they have no athletes of that gender meeting the entry standard.
