2021 Florida State Seminoles Baseball Team
The 2021 Florida State Seminoles baseball team represented Florida State University in the 2021 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Seminoles played their home games at Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. They were led by head baseball coach Mike Martin, Jr. in his second year as head coach. Previous season In 2020, the Seminoles finished with an overall record of 12-5, 1-2 in ACC Conference play, including a win against then-unbeaten rival Florida, before the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 2021 Duke Blue Devils Baseball Team
The Duke Blue Devils baseball team is the varsity intercollegiate baseball program of Duke University, based in Durham, North Carolina, United States. The team has been a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference since the conference's founding in the 1954 season. The program's home venue is the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, which opened in 1995. Robert Douglas Martin Jr. (born August 17, 1999) is an American baseball outfielder for the Colorado Rockies organization. He played college baseball for the Florida State Seminoles. Amateur career Martin was born and grew up in Tampa, Florida and attended Thomas Jefferson High School. As a senior, he batted .453 with four home runs and 24 RBIs as Jefferson won the Class 6A state championship. Martin was selected in the 37th round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft by the Miami Marlins, but did not sign with the team. Matheu Adam Nelson (born January 14, 1999) is an American professional baseball catcher in the Cincinnati Reds organization. He played college baseball for the Florida State Seminoles. Oxford is a city and college town in the U.S. state of Mississippi. Oxford lies 75 miles (121 km) south-southeast of Memphis, Tennessee, and is the county seat of Lafayette County. Oxford-University Stadium at Swayze Field is the home of the University of Mississippi Rebels college baseball team, the 2022 NCAA National Champions, and is located in Oxford, Mississippi. It is named in honor of Tom Swayze, a former Ole Miss baseball player and coach. The $3.75 million stadium opened on February 19, 1989, with a double header sweep of Cumberland University.
