2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships – Women's 1500 Metres
The women's 1500 metres event at the 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships was held on 5 March 2021 at 12:22 (heats), and on 6 March at 19:50 (final) local time. The event was won by Belgium's Elise Vanderelst in a time of 4:18.44 minutes. In the final Spain's Águeda Marqués and Great Britain's Holly Archer were initially disqualified for jostling. 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships
The 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships was held from 4 to 7 March 2021 at the Arena Toruń in Toruń, Poland. This was the second time this event was held in Poland after the 1975 edition in Katowice. The four-day competition featured 13 men's and 13 women's athletics events. Altogether 659 athletes from 46 countries participated in the event which is a record in the competition's history. The Netherlands topped the medal table for the first time with four gold, one silver and two bronze medals. Katarzynka, a gingerbread, was the mascot. Gesa Felicitas Krause
Gesa Felicitas Krause (born 3 August 1992) is a German athlete who specialises in the 3000 m steeplechase. She won bronze medals in steeplechase at both the 2015 and 2019 World Championships, and represented Germany at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. Her personal best for the 3000 m steeplechase is 9:03.30, which is also a national record. In 2019 Krause set a world best for the 2000 m steeplechase in 5:52.80. Gaia Sabbatini (10 June 1999) is an Italian middle distance runner. She won the gold medal in the 1500 metres at the 2021 European Under-23 Championships. Sabbatini is the Italian indoor record holder for the 1000 metres. She won three Italian national titles at senior level. In February 2020, in graduating absolute Italian champion, Gaia Sabbatini became the first athlete from Teramo to conquer a national title. She represented Italy at the postponed 2020 Tokyo Olympics in 2021, competing in the 1500 metres. Federica Del Buono (born 12 December 1994) is an Italian middle-distance runner who competes mainly in track events. She was the bronze medallist in the 1500 metres at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 2015. Her parents Gianni Del Buono and Rossella Gramola were also two middle-distance runners. Biography Born in Vicenza, Del Buono began training with her mother as coach and became a member of the Gruppo Sportivo Forestale sports club.
