The ninth edition of Dwars door Vlaanderen's women's race was held on Wednesday 31 April 2021. The race started and finished in Waregem, and it was won by Annemiek van Vleuten () ahead of Katarzyna Niewiadoma () in a sprint of two. Annemiek Van Vleuten
Annemiek van Vleuten (born 8 October 1982) is a Dutch professional road racing cyclist, who rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Van Vleuten is a two-time winner of both the road race (2019 and 2022) and the time trial (2017 and 2018) at the UCI Road World Championships. In the Olympic Games, she crashed out of the lead of the road race in 2016, before winning the gold medal at the time trial event and a silver in the road race at the COVID-19 pandemic-delayed 2020 Olympics. She won the Dutch National Road Race Championships in 2012, and won the Dutch National Time Trial Championships four times between 2014 and 2019. Katarzyna Niewiadoma
Katarzyna "Kasia" Niewiadoma (born 29 September 1994) is a Polish racing cyclist, who rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Among her wins are the Amstel Gold Race, the Trofeo Alfredo Binda and the stage race The Women's Tour. She is a former national champion in both the road race and time trial events. In July 2022, she was named as one of the pre-race favourites for the first edition of the Tour de France Femmes, and eventually finished third overall. Early years Niewiadoma started racing bikes with local club WLKS Krakus BBC Czaja and soon emerged as one of the most promising women riders in Poland. In 2013, she won two national Under-23 champion titles, finishing 4th in both the elite time-trial and elite road race. 2019 Dwars Door Vlaanderen For Women
The eighth running of Dwars door Vlaanderen's women's race was held on Wednesday 3 April 2019. The race started in Tielt and finished in Waregem, covering a distance of 118 km. Teams 25 teams competed in the race. Three additional non-UCI women's teams participated: Rogelli-Gyproc U-23, Jos Feron Lady Force, and Multum Accountants Ladies Team. Dwars Door Vlaanderen
Dwars door Vlaanderen ''( en, Across Flanders)'' is a semi-classic road bicycle race in Belgium, held annually since 1945. The race starts in Roeselare and finishes in Waregem, both in West Flanders. Since 2017 the event is included in the UCI World Tour. Held in late March, the event is part of the ''Flemish Cycling Week'', which also includes E3 Harelbeke, Gent–Wevelgem and the Tour of Flanders. Traditionally Dwars door Vlaanderen was held four days after Milan–San Remo and a week and a half before the Tour of Flanders. As from 2018 the race moved up one week on the international calendar and is now contested on the Wednesday before the Tour of Flanders, Flanders' foremost cycling classic, held on Sunday. Waregem (; vls, Woaregem), sometimes known as Waereghem, is a municipality and city located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality lies in the valley of the river Leie, between Kortrijk and Ghent. Grace Brown (born 7 July 1992) is an Australian road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Brown competed in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. She just missed out on a medal in the women’s time trial, finishing fourth. She also competed in the women's road race where she came 47th. After switching from speed skating to road cycling she became the 2013 junior Dutch National time trial Champion and won a silver medal in the junior time trial at the 2013 European Road Championships. Eleonora Maria "Ellen" van Dijk (; born 11 February 1987) is a Dutch professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Besides road cycling she was also a track cyclist until 2012. Van Dijk is known as a time trial specialist and is five times world champion. She won her first world title on the track in the scratch race in 2008. She became Road World Champion in 2012, 2013 and 2016 with her respective trade teams in the team time trial and in 2013 also in the individual time trial.
