2021 CAA Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2021 Colonial Athletic Association men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Colonial Athletic Association for the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The tournament was held March 6–9, 2021 at the Atlantic Union Bank Center in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The tournament was originally scheduled to be played at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, D.C., however it was relocated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This was the first time since 1986 that the CAA has crowned its men's basketball champion at an on-campus facility. Seeds All 10 CAA teams participated in the tournament. Atlantic Union Bank Center
Atlantic Union Bank Center is a multi-purpose arena on the campus of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia that plays host to the James Madison Dukes men's and women's basketball teams. It seats 8,500 and opened for the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's and women's basketball season, replacing the JMU Convocation Center. Atlantic Union Bank is the arena's naming partner. The first games at the arena were played on November 25, 2020, when the men's team beat Limestone University 89–55, followed by the women's team winning 69-55 over Mount St. Mary's University. Atlantic Union Bank Center was the host of the 2021 CAA men's basketball tournament. The conference moved the men's basketball tournament to Harrisonburg from the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, D.C. as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. 2021 CAA Women's Basketball Tournament
The 2021 Colonial Athletic Association women's basketball tournament is a postseason women's basketball tournament for the Colonial Athletic Association for the 2020–21 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The tournament was held from March 10–13, 2021 at the Schar Center in Elon, North Carolina. Drexel won the conference tournament championship game over Delaware, 63–52, earning Drexel an automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament. Seeds William & Mary did not participate in the tournament, as they voluntarily ended their season early due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The remaining 9 were seeded by conference record, with a tiebreaker system used to seed teams with identical conference records. The top seven teams received a bye to the quarterfinals.
