2021 Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Soccer Season
The 2021 Atlantic Coast Conference men's soccer season was the 68th season of men's varsity soccer in the conference. Clemson are the defending champions of the Atlantic Conference and the Pittsburgh are the defending champions of the Coastal Conference. Clemson is the defending ACC tournament Champion. Clemson and Pittsburgh both retained their regular season titles in their respective conferences. However, Clemson could not defend its ACC Tournament crown, with Notre Dame prevailing in the 2021 tournament. Eight ACC teams were invited to the NCAA tournament. Alumni Stadium (Notre Dame)
Alumni Stadium is the on-campus soccer stadium in natural grass at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana. The current tenants are the Notre Dame Fighting Irish men's & women's soccer teams. The 3,007 -seat stadium was built between April 26, 2008, and September 1, 2009. It was first used on September 4, 2009, when the women's team played North Carolina and the men's team played Wake Forest. Capacity is increased via a grass berm on the east end of the ground. Its largest crowd was 3,511 guests to assist the women's team versus Tulsa on September 2, 2011. It has hosted NCAA tournament games. Dorrance Field
Dorrance Field is the on-campus soccer and lacrosse stadium at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The stadium was constructed on the site of the old Fetzer Field. Construction on the new field began in May 2017 and the stadium opened on March 2, 2019. The field was named after longtime women's soccer coach Anson Dorrance, officially dedicated on September 29, 2019. 2021 North Carolina Tar Heels Men's Soccer Team
The 2021 North Carolina Tar Heels men's soccer team represented the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill during the 2021 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. It was the 75th season of the university fielding a program. The Tar Heels were led by eleventh year head coach Carlos Somoano and played their home games at Dorrance Field. The Tar Heels finished the season 11–7–2 overall and 4–4–0 in ACC play to finish in fourth place in the Coastal Division. As the seventh overall seed in the ACC Tournament, they defeated Syracuse in the First Round, before losing to Clemson in the Quarterfinals. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. The 2021 Wake Forest Demon Deacons men's soccer team represented Wake Forest University during the 2021 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. It was the 75th season of the university fielding a program. It was the program's seventh season with Bobby Muuss as head coach. The Demon Deacons played their home matches at Spry Stadium. The Demon Deacons finished the season 13–7–1 overall and 4–3–1 in ACC play to finish in third place in the Atlantic Division. Dail Soccer Field
The Dail Soccer Field is the on-campus soccer stadium at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. The 3,000-seat stadium was built in 2008. The current tenants are the NC State Wolfpack men's & women's soccer teams. The opening of the stadium allowed both soccer teams to play night games because their prior stadium did not include flood lights. Prior to the soccer stadium being completed, the complex was used as a training site for athletes from Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica and Norway prior to the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. Renovations During the summer of 2011 the stadium received upgraded seating and bleachers behind both goals. A new brick look also encompasses a majority of the upgrades that have been made to the stadium, while a press box, new fan entrance and a brand-new stand alone building in the southeast corner of the stadium provides a meeting and locker room space and showers. NC State v Clemson match in 2006 The NC State Wolfpack men's soccer team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. The team is a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. NC State's first men's soccer team was fielded in 1950. The team plays its home games at Dail Soccer Stadium in Raleigh. The Pack is coached by George Kiefer. The Wolfpack had much of their success in the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s, where over the span of 10 seasons, the Pack appeared in eight NCAA Tournaments. Riggs Field
Riggs Field is a 6,500-capacity soccer-specific stadium located in Clemson, South Carolina. The stadium is home to the Clemson Tigers men's and women's soccer teams. It has also hosted the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship in 1987. The stadium opened for soccer in 1980, and was renovated in 1987, and again in 2013. Previous to this, it hosted a variety of the school's athletic teams, including the football team from 1915 until 1941 and the baseball team from 1916 until 1969.
