2021 ACC Men's Soccer Tournament
The 2021 ACC men's soccer tournament will be the 35th edition of the ACC Men's Soccer Tournament. The tournament will decide the Atlantic Coast Conference champion and guaranteed representative into the 2021 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament. The final will be played at Sahlen's Stadium in Cary, North Carolina. The Clemson Tigers were the defending champions, but were unable to defend their title, as they fell to Duke in the semifinals. Notre Dame won their first ACC title, by defeating NC State in the first round, Louisville on penalties in the quarterfinals, Pittsburgh in the semifinals, and Duke in the final, 2–0. It was also the first ACC title for head coach Chad Riley. Notre Dame was the 5 seed entering the tournament, and they became the lowest seeded team to win since Syracuse in 2015, who won as the 7th seed. WakeMed Soccer Park
WakeMed Soccer Park is a major soccer complex in Cary, North Carolina, United States. It consists of a purpose-built, soccer-specific main stadium called Sahlen's Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park, two lighted practice fields, and four additional fields. Sahlen's Stadium and the two lighted fields (2 & 3) are all FIFA international regulation size (). Sahlen's Stadium seats 10,000, while Field 2 also has 1,000 permanent bleacher seats. 2021 Wake Forest Demon Deacons Men's Soccer Team
The 2021 Wake Forest Demon Deacons men's soccer team represented Wake Forest University during the 2021 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. It was the 75th season of the university fielding a program. It was the program's seventh season with Bobby Muuss as head coach. The Demon Deacons played their home matches at Spry Stadium. The Demon Deacons finished the season 13–7–1 overall and 4–3–1 in ACC play to finish in third place in the Atlantic Division. As the sixth overall seed in the ACC Tournament they defeated Virginia in the first round before losing to Duke in the quarterfinals. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Omar Hernandez (soccer)
Omar Hernandez Chavarria (born May 4, 2001) is an American college soccer player who currently plays for Wake Forest University. He had previously played for the academy teams of Chattanooga FC and Atlanta United FC. Hernandez was the 2019 recipient of Gatorade Player of the Year award for boys' soccer. The award is a nationally recognized honor given to the best high school athlete in the United States. Alumni Stadium is the on-campus soccer stadium in natural grass at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana. The current tenants are the Notre Dame Fighting Irish men's & women's soccer teams. The 3,007 -seat stadium was built between April 26, 2008, and September 1, 2009. It was first used on September 4, 2009, when the women's team played North Carolina and the men's team played Wake Forest. Capacity is increased via a grass berm on the east end of the ground.
