The 2020–21 season was the 52nd season of national competitive association football in Australia and 138th overall. Several events from March 2020 onwards were disrupted or postponed due to impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia. 2020–21 A-League
The 2020–21 A-League was the 44th season of national level soccer in Australia, and the 16th since the establishment of the A-League in 2004. The season was started on 28 December 2020 and concluded with the Grand Final on 27 June 2021. The start of the season was later than previous seasons as a result of both the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia and New Zealand, and as part of a gradual shift to move the competition from summer to winter. Wellington Phoenix played the majority of their home matches at Wollongong Showground in Wollongong due to international travel restrictions. Sydney FC were the defending champions and premiers, having won their record fifth and fourth titles respectively the previous season. Kuwait City
Kuwait City ( ar, مدينة الكويت) is the capital and largest city of Kuwait. Mathew Leckie
Mathew Allan Leckie (born 4 February 1991) is an Australian footballer who plays for Melbourne City FC in the A-League and the Australian national team (for whom he has previously been the captain). Leckie, being a quick and agile player, is usually placed on the wing. However, he has previously been deployed as a midfielder, striker/second striker and even as a wing-back. Mitchell Thomas Duke (born 18 January 1991) is an Australian international soccer player who plays for Machida Zelvia in the J2 League. Trent Lucas Sainsbury (born 5 January 1992) is an Australian professional football player who plays as a centre back for Qatari club Al-Wakrah and the Australian national team. Harry James Souttar (born 22 October 1998) is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for Premier League club Leicester City and the Australia national team.
