The 2020–21 Western Sydney Wanderers season was the club's ninth season since its establishment in 2012. The club participated in the A-League for the ninth time. Pre-season The Western Sydney Wanderers started the season with Jean-Paul de Marigny as their head coach after he was appointed in July permanently, following an interim session after the sacking of Markus Babbel. Three months after his appointment, Wanderers announced de Marigny's sacking with no explanation. On 15 October 2020, the Wanderers announced the signing of Carl Robinson from Newcastle Jets as de Marigny's replacement. Western Sydney Wanderers Football Club (colloquially known as Western Sydney, or simply as Wanderers) is an Australian professional soccer club based in the Western Sydney region of Sydney, New South Wales. It competes in the country's premier competition, the A-League, under licence from The Australian Professional Leagues (APL). formerly under licence by the Football Federation Australia (FFA). The club had established itself as a major force in both Australia and Asia, having won one A-League Premiership and an AFC Champions League title in its history. Formed in April 2012 by FFA, Wanderers was established with a strong community focus. Dylan McGowan
Dylan John McGowan (born 6 August 1991) is an Australian professional footballer who plays as a defender for Hamilton Academical, on loan from Kilmarnock. Early life McGowan was born in Adelaide into a Scottish family from Glasgow. He is the brother of fellow footballer Ryan McGowan. Jordon James Edward Sydney Mutch (born 2 December 1991) is an English professional footballer who most recently played as a central midfielder for Australian A-League club Macarthur FC. Mutch joined Birmingham City in 2007 from Derby County's youth system. Graham Dorrans
Graham Dorrans (born 5 May 1987) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. He began his football career at Scottish club Livingston, before joining English club West Bromwich Albion in 2008. In the 2009–10 season, he helped West Bromwich Albion gain promotion to the Premier League and was named in the Championship Team of the Year in the process. Kwame Adzenyina Yeboah (born 2 June 1994) is an Australian former professional footballer who played as a forward. Yeboah played youth football with the Queensland Academy of Sport and Gold Coast United before making his professional debut for Brisbane Roar in 2013.
