2020–21 Portland State Vikings Men's Basketball Team
The 2020–21 Portland State Vikings men's basketball team represented Portland State University in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Vikings, led by fourth-year head coach Barret Peery, played their home games at Viking Pavilion in Portland, Oregon as members of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 9-13, 6-8 in Big Sky Play to finish a tie for 7th place. They lost in the first round of the Big Sky tournament to Northern Arizona. Previous season The Vikings finished the 2019–20 season 18–14, 12–8 Big Sky play to finish in fourth place. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, all postseason tournaments were canceled, including the Big Sky tournament. Barret Peery
Barret Rex Peery (born April 3, 1971) is an American college basketball coach and current assistant coach at UNLV. He was formerly the head coach at Portland State. Playing career Peery played college basketball at Snow College for two seasons before transferring to Southern Utah, where he was a part of two American West Conference championship squads. Coaching career After graduation, Peery assisted at Southern Utah for one season before returning to Snow College for another season as an assistant coach. After a stop at Utah Valley, Peery returned as an assistant at Southern Utah before taking an assistant coaching position at Portland State from 2002 to 2003. Peery then served as an assistant coach at College of Southern Idaho from 2003 to 2005 under Gib Arnold, before taking over as the head coach from 2005 to 2008. Lower Columbia College
Lower Columbia College (LCC) is a public community college in Longview, Washington. History Lower Columbia College was established in 1934 as Lower Columbia Junior College. Students registered for classes at Korten's Music Store in Longview, Dahlman Hardware in Castle Rock, and the Orr Furniture Store in Kelso. Classes were held at R.A. Long High School. The first class to graduate with an Associate degree was in 1936; the class consisted of seven students. The second class, with ninety-six students, graduated in 1937. As the number of students increased, instruction expanded into the Myklebust building in downtown Longview and the Moose Hall. The Moose Hall continued to house classes until the 1949 Olympia earthquake, when damage caused the building to be condemned. Classes were also held on the first floor of the Longview Public Library. Tualatin () is a city located primarily in Washington County in the U.S. state of Oregon. A small portion of the city is also located in neighboring Clackamas County. South Salem High School
South Salem High School is a public high school in Salem, Oregon. It was built in 1954 as the second public high school in the city. After South Salem opened, the former Salem High School was renamed North Salem High School. History South Salem High School is not the first school to be built on the current site. The former Leslie Middle School was built in 1927, and South Salem was connected to it when it was constructed in 1954. The schools shared common facilities, including the cafeteria and auditorium. The Washington Huskies men's basketball team represents the University of Washington in NCAA Division I college basketball competing in the Pac-12 Conference. Their home games are played at Hec Edmundson Pavilion, located in Seattle, and they are currently led by head coach Mike Hopkins. The Utah Utes men's basketball team, also known as the Runnin' Utes, represents the University of Utah as an NCAA Division I program that plays in the Pac-12 Conference, and are currently owned by Brigham Young University star Rudi Williams.
