2020–21 Ohio Bobcats Women's Basketball Team
The 2020–21 Ohio Bobcats women's basketball team represented Ohio University during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Bobcats, led by eighth year head coach Bob Boldon, played its home games at the Convocation Center in Athens, Ohio as a member of the Mid-American Conference. This season was played during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. As a result schedules were shortened and consolidated and most games were played without general fan attendance. Ohio opened the non-conference slate of games with a win over Liberty and upset of national power Notre Dame. They were named NCAA Team of the Week for their first week effort. They finished the season 15-10, 11-6 in MAC play. They finished 3rd overall in the MAC. They advanced to the semi-finals of the MAC women's tournament where they lost to Central Michigan. Bob Boldon
Robert John Boldon (born May 1, 1975) is an American women's basketball coach and former basketball player. He is the current head Ohio Bobcats women's basketball, women's basketball coach at Ohio University. He previously held the same position at Youngstown State University, Lambuth University, Lambuth, and University of Arkansas at Monticello, Arkansas-Monticello Playing career Boldon started at point guard for four years and led Walsh to the NAIA Final Four in 1995–96. As a freshman, Boldon averaged 8.2 points and accumulated 163 assists. Over the next three years, Boldon was named First Team All-Mid-Ohio Conference each season, accumulating 204 assists and an average of 12.7 points as a sophomore, 222 assists and an average of 14.5 points as a junior, and 186 assists and an average of 14.3 points as a senior. Nancy Lieberman Award
The Nancy Lieberman Award, named for Basketball Hall of Fame legend Nancy Lieberman, was given annually by the Rotary Club of Detroit in the Award's first 14 years to the nation's top collegiate point guard in women's Division I basketball. Sue Bird won the inaugural award in 2000, making her the first of only two players to have won three Lieberman Awards. Paige Bueckers is the first freshman (first-year player) to win the award in 2021, and only three players have won as sophomores (second-year players)—Bird in 2000; the other three-time winner, Sabrina Ionescu, in 2018; and Caitlin Clark in 2022. Urbana High School (Ohio)
Urbana High School (UHS) is a public high school in Urbana, Ohio, United States, serving students in grades nine through 12. It is the only high school in the Urbana City School District and had a student enrollment of 509 in 2015–16. Athletic teams are known as the Hillclimbers and the school colors are maroon and white. Montini Catholic High School
Montini Catholic High School (often shortened to Montini) is a co-educational, college preparatory, high school, run by the Christian Brothers in Lombard, Illinois. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Joliet in Illinois. The school was planned by the Christian Brothers in 1963. Pope Paul VI, whose name was Giovanni Battista Montini (John Baptist Montini), was elected to the Papacy that same year.
