2020–21 Chelsea F.C. Season
The 2020–21 season was Chelsea's 107th competitive season, 32nd consecutive season in the top flight of English football, 29th consecutive season in the Premier League, and 115th year in existence as a football club. The season covered the period from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021. Prior to the 2020–21 season, Chelsea made numerous high-profile signings in the transfer market, bringing in the likes of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell, Hakim Ziyech, and Thiago Silva in the off-season, as well as Édouard Mendy shortly after the season began. The Blues began this season under the management of former Chelsea player Frank Lampard, in his second season at the club. However, Lampard was sacked in January and replaced by the German manager Thomas Tuchel. The season culminated in the club's second European Cup victory, as on 29 May 2021, Chelsea defeated fellow English side Manchester City in the Champions League final to be crowned champions of Europe. Timo Werner
Timo Werner (; born 6 March 1996) is a German professional footballer who plays as a striker for Bundesliga club RB Leipzig and the Germany national team. Werner began his senior club career in 2013 playing for VfB Stuttgart, becoming the club's youngest debutant and youngest ever goalscorer. He signed with RB Leipzig in 2016, aged 20, in a then club record transfer worth €10 million, where he set the record as the youngest player to reach 150 and 200 appearances in the Bundesliga. Willian Borges da Silva (born 9 August 1988), known as Willian, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a winger for Premier League club Fulham. Willian started his career at Corinthians, before joining Shakhtar Donetsk in August 2007 for a fee of €14million. 2021 UEFA Champions League Final
The 2021 UEFA Champions League Final was the final match of the 2020–21 UEFA Champions League, the 66th season of Europe's premier club football tournament organised by UEFA, and the 29th season since it was renamed from the European Cup to the UEFA Champions League. It was played at the Estádio do Dragão in Porto, Portugal on 29 May 2021, between English clubs Manchester City, in their first European Cup final, and 2012 winners Chelsea. This was the third all-English final in the competition, after the 2008 and 2019 finals. The final was originally scheduled to be played at the Krestovsky Stadium in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Benjamin James Chilwell (born 21 December 1996) is an English professional footballer who plays as a left-back for club Chelsea and the England national team.
