2020–21 Charleston Cougars Men's Basketball Team
The 2020–21 College of Charleston Cougars men's basketball team represented the College of Charleston in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cougars, led by seventh-year head coach Earl Grant, play their home games at the TD Arena in Charleston, South Carolina as members of the Colonial Athletic Association. In a season limited due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Cougars finished the season 9–10, 6–4 CAA play to finish in third place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the CAA tournament to Drexel. Previous season The Cougars finished the 2019–20 season 17–14, 11–7 in CAA play to finish in a tie for fourth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the CAA tournament to Delaware. Earl Grant (basketball)
Earl Grant (born December 25, 1976) is an American college basketball coach and the current head coach for the Boston College Eagles men's basketball team. Prior to being named head coach at Boston College, Grant served as head coach at the College of Charleston, as an assistant coach at Clemson University, and an assistant coach for six years under former Charleston assistant coach Gregg Marshall at Wichita State and Winthrop University. Grant also served as an assistant coach at The Citadel. Biography A native of North Charleston, South Carolina, Grant went to R.B. Stall High School. He played college basketball at the NCAA Division II level at Georgia College for two years. He led Georgia College to consecutive Peach Belt Conference championships and the Elite Eight of the 2000 NCAA Tournament. 2020 NBA Draft
The 2020 NBA draft was held on November 18, 2020. The draft was originally scheduled to be held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on June 25, but due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it was instead conducted at ESPN's facilities in Bristol, Connecticut, with the event held via videoconferencing. National Basketball Association (NBA) teams took turns selecting amateur United States college basketball players and other eligible players, including international players. It was televised nationally on ESPN. The draft lottery was originally scheduled to take place on May 19, 2020, it was rescheduled on August 20, 2020. This was the first draft since 1975 to not be held in June and was also the second to be done later than that month after the inaugural 1947 draft, which was conducted in July by the NBA's predecessor, the Basketball Association of America (BAA). Saint Joseph's Hawks Men's Basketball
The Saint Joseph's Hawks men's basketball team represents Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The program is classified in the NCAA's Division I, and the team competes in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Saint Joseph's competes as well as part of the Philadelphia Big 5. The Minnesota Golden Gophers men's basketball team represents the University of Minnesota in NCAA Division I college basketball competition. The Golden Gophers competes in the Big Ten Conference and play their home games at the Williams Arena.
