The 2020–21 Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners men's basketball team represented California State University, Bakersfield during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by tenth-year head coach Rod Barnes, and played their home games at Icardo Center in Bakersfield, California as a first-year member of the Big West Conference. Previous season The Roadrunners finished the season 12–19, 6–10 in WAC play to finish in seventh place. They were set to be the No. 7 seed in the WAC tournament, however, the tournament was cancelled amid the COVID-19 pandemic. 2019–20 was the final year in the WAC for the Roadrunners, as they joined the Big West Conference on July 1, 2020. Rod Barnes
Rodrick Kenneth Barnes (born January 8, 1966) is an American college basketball coach. He is the head men's basketball coach at California State University, Bakersfield, a position he has held since 2011. Barnes held the same position at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) from 1998 to 2006 and Georgia State University from 2007 to 2011. Playing and early coaching career Barnes played college basketball at the University of Mississippi of the NCAA Division I's Southeastern Conference from 1985 to 1988. He earned All-SEC and All-America honorable mention honors in 1988. Barnes earned his business administration degree in 1989 and left Ole Miss to become an assistant coach at Livingston University in 1990. In 1993, Barnes returned to Ole Miss to serve as an assistant coach to Rob Evans. McKale Center
McKale Memorial Center is an athletic arena in the southwest United States, located on the campus of the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. As the home of the university's Wildcats basketball team of the Big 12 Conference, it is primarily used for basketball, but also has physical training and therapy facilities. Its construction is marked with a large copper cap that has oxidized brown. In the 1960s, it was recognized that the Wildcats' basketball venue, Bear Down Gymnasium, was outdated and in need of replacement. Major planning for the new facility began in 1966. Leavey Center, also known as the Leavey Activities Center or occasionally by its old nickname the Toso Pavilion, is Santa Clara University's indoor basketball arena in Santa Clara, California.
