2020–21 Brentford F.C. Season
The 2020–21 Brentford F.C. season was the club's 131st season in existence and seventh consecutive season in the Championship, the second tier of English football. Brentford would also compete in the FA Cup and competed in the EFL Cup. The season covered the period from 1 September 2020 to 30 June 2021. Brentford secured promotion to the Premier League on 29 May 2021, following a 2–0 victory against Swansea City in the play-off final at Wembley, confirming the club's top flight status for the first time in 74 years. Brentford is a suburban town in West London, England and part of the London Borough of Hounslow. It lies at the confluence of the River Brent and the Thames, west of Charing Cross. Griffin Park was a association football, football ground in Brentford in the London Borough of Hounslow, England. It was the home ground of Brentford F.C. from its opening in September 1904 to August 2020. Dominic Lewis Thompson (born 26 July 2000) is an English professional footballer who plays as a left-back for club Motherwell. Thompson is a graduate of the Arsenal academy and began his senior career with Brentford in 2019. He appeared sparingly before transferring to Blackpool in 2022. After falling out of favour, he transferred to Motherwell in 2025. Nathan Shepperd (born 10 September 2000) is a Welsh professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Cymru Premier club The New Saints. Shepperd is a product of the Swansea City academy and began his professional career with Brentford in 2019. Luke Matthew Daniels (born 5 January 1988) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for club Barrow, where he also serves as goalkeeper coach. Daniels is product of the Manchester United and West Bromwich Albion academies and played much of the early years of his career away on loan from the latter club. He transferred to League One club Scunthorpe United in 2015 and served as first-choice goalkeeper until 2017, when he transferred to Championship club Brentford. Patrik Sigurður Gunnarsson (born 15 November 2000) is an Icelandic professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Belgian Pro League club Kortrijk.
