2020–21 Arizona Wildcats Men's Basketball Team
The 2020–21 Arizona Wildcats men's basketball team represented the University of Arizona during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by 12th-year head coach Sean Miller, in his final season at the program, and played their home games at McKale Center in Tucson, Arizona as members of the Pac-12 Conference. The Wildcats finished the season 17–9, 11–9 in Pac–12 play to finish in fifth place. The school self-imposed a postseason ban for the 2020–21 season amid an ongoing NCAA investigation over an FBI bribery scandal involving a former assistant coach and agent between 2017 and 2018 hoping to avoid further punishment from the NCAA. The ban included both the Pac–12 Tournament and the NCAA tournament. On April 7, 2021, the school fired head coach Sean Miller due to allegations related to the corruption scandal. Sean Miller
Sean Edward Miller (born November 17, 1968) is an American college basketball coach who currently serves as head coach of the Xavier Musketeers men's basketball, Xavier Musketeers. He previously was in that position from 2004 to 2009, after which he took the head coach position for the Arizona Wildcats men's basketball, Arizona Wildcats, which he held until being fired in 2021. Miller is a three-time gold medalist as a member of USA Basketball: once as a player, once as an assistant coach, and once as head coach. Miller has won five league Coach of the Year Awards: once in the Atlantic 10 Conference, A10, three in the Pac-12, and once as USA Basketball Coach of the Year. 2019–20 USC Trojans Men's Basketball Team
The 2019–20 USC Trojans men's basketball team represented the University of Southern California during the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Led by seventh-year head coach Andy Enfield, they played their home games at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California as members of the Pac-12 Conference. They finished the season 22–9, 11–7 in Pac-12 play to finish in a tie for third place. They were set to take on Arizona in the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 tournament. However, the remainder of the Pac-12 tournament, and all other postseason tournaments, were cancelled amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Nico Mannion
Niccolò "Nico" Mannion (born March 14, 2001) is an Italian-American professional basketball player for Virtus Bologna of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) and the EuroLeague. He played college basketball for the Arizona Wildcats. He attended Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, Arizona, where he was a consensus five-star recruit and one of the top point guards in the 2019 class. 2020 NBA Draft
The 2020 NBA draft was held on November 18, 2020. The draft was originally scheduled to be held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on June 25, but due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it was instead conducted at ESPN's facilities in Bristol, Connecticut, with the event held via videoconferencing. National Basketball Association (NBA) teams took turns selecting amateur United States college basketball players and other eligible players, including international players. Joshua Benjamin Green (born 16 November 2000) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Chase Michael Jeter (born September 19, 1997) is an American basketball player. He played college basketball for the Duke Blue Devils and the Arizona Wildcats. High school career Jeter played basketball for Bishop Gorman High School in Summerlin, Nevada.
