2020–21 Amiens SC Season
The 2020–21 Amiens SC season was the club's 118th season in existence and the first season back in the second division of French football. In addition to the domestic league, Amiens participated in this season's edition of the Coupe de France. The season covered the period from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021. Amiens SC
Amiens Sporting Club (; commonly referred to as Amiens SC or simply Amiens) is a French association football club based in the northern city of Amiens in the Hauts-de-France region. The club was formed in 1901 and play in Ligue 2, the second division of French football. The club plays its home matches at the Stade de la Licorne located within the city. The 2017–18 Ligue 1 season was the first in the club's 116-year history, where they finished in 13th place to secure a position in Ligue 1 for the following year. Amiens have never won a major trophy. History Amiens Athlétic Club (AAC) was set up in 1901 by a group of players from the Association du Lycée d'Amiens, French schoolboy champions in 1902, 1903, and 1904. Molla Wagué (born 21 February 1991) is a professional footballer who plays as a centre back. Born in France, he represented the country at U19 youth level before switching to the Mali senior national team. Club career Wagué started his professional career with French club SM Caen. He made his professional debut on 6 November 2011 in a 3–0 league victory against Dijon. Two weeks later, in his first professional start, he scored his first professional goal in a 2–2 draw with Ajaccio. On 10 July 2014, he joined Serie A club Udinese on loan after signing a contract with Granada. On 31 January 2017, Wagué joined Leicester City on loan from Udinese until the end of the season. John Stiven Mendoza Valencia (born 27 June 1992) is a Colombian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Campeonato Brasileiro Série A club Santos. He earned two caps for the Colombia national football team in 2019. Formed at Envigado and loaned to América Cali and Cúcuta Deportivo, he joined Deportivo Cali in 2013. In 2014, he was signed by Chennaiyin for the inaugural Indian Super League season, after which he joined Corinthians, being loaned back for the second installment of the ISL. Alexis Blin (born 16 September 1996) is a French professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for club Lecce. Club career Toulouse Blin is a youth exponent from Le Mans but transferred to Ligue 1 side Toulouse in 2013. Yohann Georges Thuram-Ulien (born 31 October 1988) is a professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for club Quevilly-Rouen.
