2020 Virginia Tech Hokies Men's Soccer Team
The 2020 Virginia Tech Hokies men's soccer team represented Virginia Tech during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. It was the 49th season of the University fielding a program. The Hokies played their home games at Sandra D. Thompson Field in Blacksburg, Virginia. The Hokies were led by twelfth-year head coach Mike Brizendine. The teams' 2020 season was significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, which curtailed the fall season and caused the NCAA Tournament to be played in spring 2021. The ACC was one of the only two conferences in men's soccer to play in the fall of 2020. The ACC also held a mini-season during the spring of 2021. The Hokies finished the fall season 3–2–2 and 3–1–2 in ACC play to finish in second place in the North Division. In the ACC Tournament they lost to Clemson in the Quarterfinals. Mike Brizendine
Mike Brizendine is the head men's soccer coach at Virginia Tech. He has held that position since the 2009 season, in which the Hokies posted a 5-12-2 record. He had previously served as the top assistant coach at Virginia Tech from 2004 to 2009. As a member of the staff, Virginia Tech reached the 2007 college cup. He was named NSCAA's Atlantic Region Coach of the Year in 2007 for his efforts. From 2001 to 2003, he coached at Bridgewater College, posting a 23-13 overall mark there. He was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference coach of the year for his efforts. He was also an assistant coach at Ferrum College in 1999. 2019 New Hampshire Wildcats Men's Soccer Team
The New Hampshire Wildcats men's soccer team represents the University of New Hampshire in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. The Wildcats play in the America East Conference. They play in Wildcat Stadium in Durham, New Hampshire. The Wildcats have seen a surge to the top under the guidance of head coach Marc Hubbard which has gained them both regional and national recognition. He has helped UNH secure 4 regular-season conference titles, 4 conference tournament titles, and 6 NCAA tournaments in his tenure. In recent years, the Wildcats have developed a rivalry with fellow America East member Vermont. The all-time record between the teams lies at 7-7-7 and both teams regularly compete for the America East title and have combined for the last 5 America East Conference tournament titles. The 2020 MLS SuperDraft was the 21st edition of the MLS SuperDraft, SuperDraft conducted by Major League Soccer. The 2020 SuperDraft was the first SuperDraft held exclusively via conference call and web streaming.
