2020 VBA Season
The 2020 VBA season was the fifth season of the Vietnam Basketball Association. The season was scheduled to start in May but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The regular season began on 15 October 2020 and ended on 20 November. The playoffs semi-finals began on 24 November 2020 and ended on 28 November 2020. The Finals began on 2 December 2020 and ended on 8 December 2020 with the Saigon Heat defeating the Thang Long Warriors after 4 games. Teams Venues and locations Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all games will be played in a bubble in Ho Chi Minh City. A stadium, nicknamed the VBA Arena, was constructed in Studio S4 on the campus of ZoOm Media. The 2019 VBA season was the fourth season of the Vietnam Basketball Association. The regular season began on 1 June 2019 and ended on 18 August 2019. The playoffs began on 24 August 2019 and ended on 31 August 2019. The finals began on 7 September 2019 and ended on 17 September 2019 with the Saigon Heat beating the Cantho Catfish in 5 games. Eric Weissling
Eric Weissling (born January 20, 1988) is a professional basketball coach of Mexican, American and German descent. Career He began his professional career as a player assistant with the San Antonio Spurs of the NBA 2004–2012, while he was there he worked with players such as: Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker, Bruce Bowen and many more. During these seven years he was part of two NBA championships; the first in 2004–2005 against Detroit Pistons and the second in 2006–2007 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. David Singleton (born 1961) is an English record producer, audio engineer, record label director, musician, songwriter, author and Internet entrepreneur. Justin Young (basketball)
Justin Young ( vi, Dương Vĩnh Luân; born March 9, 1993) is a Vietnamese- American professional basketball player for the Thang Long Warriors of the Vietnam Basketball Association (VBA). Pro career Hochiminh City Wings (2016) In 2016, Young joined the Hochiminh City Wings of the VBA prior to the league's inaugural season. At the conclusion of the season, he was named the Defensive Player of the Year, finishing with averages of 10.38 points, 10.52 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. Khoa Tran ( vi, Trần Đăng Khoa; January 21, 1997) is a Vietnamese-American professional basketball player for the Saigon Heat of the VBA and the Saigon Heat of the Asean Basketball League. He is also known as "Mr. Wiggle" in Vietnam. Chris Dierker
Christopher William Dierker (Vietnamese: Đặng Quý Kiệt; born August 11, 1994) is a retired Vietnamese American professional basketball player for the Danang Dragons of the Vietnam Basketball Association (VBA). Career Dierker's mother Lien Dierker grew up in Danang, Vietnam. He attended Salem High School and joined NAIA school Madonna University. He was Madonna's career leader in rebounds (908) and was first in rebound average (7.4 per game), while finishing with 1,483 career points, seventh all time at the university. In 2016, he set the school single-game rebounding record with 19 rebounds while scoring a career-high 29 points. Dierker graduated with a degree in biology.
