2020 Russian Women's Football Championship
The 2020 Russian Women's Football Super League (Чемпионат России по футболу среди женских команд – Cуперлига-2020) was the 29th season of the Russian women's football top-level league. ZFK CSKA Moscow, CSKA Moscow were the defending champions. The tournament was supposed to start on March 29, but on March 17, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russian Football Union, RFU decided to suspend all competitions under its auspices (include the Russian women's championship). The season was delayed until August 1, 2020. The Russian Women's Football Championship (russian: Чемпионат России по футболу среди женщин), also known as the Top Division and the Women's Football League, is the highest professional women's football league in Russia. The Top Division was founded in 1992. Prior to the collapse of the Soviet Union, the women's league played two seasons in 1990 and 1991. Format For the 2010 season the seven teams play each other four times, two times away and two games at home. In previous years the team played each other only twice. As Russia is in the top 8 leagues of Europe by UEFA Coefficient the top two teams qualify for the UEFA Women's Champions League and the last team gets relegated to the Women’s 1.Division. VEB Arena
VEB Arena ( rus, «ВЭБ-Арена»), known as Arena CSKA due to UEFA sponsorship regulations, is a multi-use stadium in Khodynka Field, Moscow, Russia, that was completed in 2016. It is used mostly for football matches and host the home matches of PFC CSKA Moscow and occasionally the Russian national team. The stadium is located near the Khodynka Field in the Park of Birch Grove.
