The 2020 Portland Timbers season is the 34th season in their existence and the 10th season for the Portland Timbers in Major League Soccer (MLS), the top-flight professional soccer league in the United States and Canada. Portland Timbers
The Portland Timbers are an American professional men's soccer club based in Portland, Oregon. The Timbers compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member club of the league's Western Conference. The Timbers have played their home games at Providence Park since 2011, when the team began play as an expansion team in the league. The club was founded in 2009, when the city of Portland was awarded an expansion berth to Major League Soccer. The team operating rights are owned by Peregrine Sports under the majority ownership of Merritt Paulson, whose companies had acquired the then-USL Pro team in 2007 and later established the Portland Thorns women's team in 2012 (all MLS franchises are centrally owned by the league itself, which grants operating rights and privileges to the individual club "owners," who are also shareholders in MLS). 2021 CONCACAF Champions League
The 2021 CONCACAF Champions League (officially the 2021 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League for sponsorship reasons) was the 13th edition of the CONCACAF Champions League under its current name, and overall the 56th edition of the premier football club competition organized by CONCACAF, the regional governing body of North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament, which usually starts in mid-February each year, was started in April, and concluded with the final in October, which was played as a single-leg match hosted by the finalist which had the better performances in previous rounds. Ryan Sierakowski
Ryan David Sierakowski (born August 7, 1997) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward for USL League One side Richmond Kickers. Career Youth & College Sierakowski attended Michigan State University, where he played college soccer for four years between 2015 and 2018, making 81 appearances, scoring 33 goals and tallying 16 assists. Sierakowski holds the record for most career points by a Michigan State University soccer player in the history of the program. Sierakowski is the first, and only, player to lead the team in points (goals and assists combined) in all four seasons of his collegiate career. Zachery Lewis McGraw (born June 8, 1997) is a professional soccer player who plays as a defender for Major League Soccer club Portland Timbers. Born in the United States, he represents the Canada national team. Youth and college McGraw played as part of the USSDA academy side FC Golden State, graduated from West High School (Torrance, California) in 2015, before playing college soccer at the United States Military Academy in 2016. The Campeones Cup is an annual North American association football match contested between the winners of the previous MLS Cup from Major League Soccer and the winners of the Campeón de Campeones from Liga MX. The competition was established by the two leagues in 2018. Format The Campeones Cup is contested by the winner of the MLS Cup, held annually in November or December, to decide the winner of the Major League Soccer season, and the Campeón de Campeones, held annually in July between the winners of the Apertura and Clausura tournaments in Liga MX. If a Liga MX team wins both the Apertura and Clausura tournaments, then the team automatically wins the Campeón de Campeones and will also compete in the Campeones Cup. MLS All-Star Game
The Major League Soccer All-Star Game is an annual soccer game held by Major League Soccer featuring selected players from the league against an international club or selected players from Liga MX. MLS initially adopted a traditional all-star game format used by other North American sports leagues where the Eastern Conference squared off against the Western Conference. This eventually evolved into the current system where the league annually invites a club from abroad to play against a league all-star team in a friendly match. Aaron Molloy (born 11 January 1997) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for the Charleston Battery in the USL Championship.
