Rivers, Manitoba
Rivers is an unincorporated urban community in the Riverdale Municipality within the Canadian province of Manitoba. It is located northwest of Brandon, above sea level. It is within the Westman Region (Southwestern Manitoba). Agriculture, health and related businesses provide income for the community and area. Rivers has a population of 1,257 people in the 2016 census. History Rivers was named in 1908 after Sir Charles Rivers Wilson, Chairman of the Board of the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway. During the Second World War, Rivers became one of the sites in Canada which helped to fix the positions of German U-boats using high-frequency direction finding. This site, along with Portage la Prairie increased the "fix" accuracy on the U-boats. Rivers held town status prior to January 1, 2015. Moose Jaw
Moose Jaw is the fourth largest city in Saskatchewan, Canada. Lying on the Moose Jaw River in the south-central part of the province, it is situated on the Trans-Canada Highway, west of Regina. Darcy Robertson
Darcy Robertson (born Darcy Kirkness, March 13, 1965) is a Canadian curler. She is a three-time provincial champion and former Canadian junior champion. Career Robertson had a successful junior career which involved winning the 1984 Canadian Junior Curling Championships with her younger sister Barb, Janet Harvey and Barbara Fetch. Two years later, Robertson, her sister Barb, Fetch and Faye Irwin would win the provincial women's championship and would be given the right to represent Manitoba at the 1986 Scott Tournament of Hearts. At the Hearts, the team went 6–5 in the round robin and missed the playoffs. Also in 1986, Robertson won the provincial mixed championship playing lead for Hal Tanasichuk. Beth Peterson (born March 1, 1994) is a Canadian curler from Winnipeg, Manitoba. She currently skips her own team out of the Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club in Winnipeg. Career Peterson won the 2015 Manitoba Junior provincial championship skipping her team of Robyn Njegovan, Melissa Gordon and Breanne Yozenko. At the 2015 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, they finished in fifth place with a 6–4 record. The following season, her team began competing on the World Curling Tour and finished runner-up at the 2015 Mother Club Fall Curling Classic.
