2020 Kazakhstan Premier League
The 2020 Kazakhstan Premier League was the 29th season of the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest football league competition in Kazakhstan. FC Astana were the defending champions after winning their sixth title the previous season. Season events COVID-19 On 13 March, the Football Federation of Kazakhstan announced all league fixtures would be played behind closed doors for the foreseeable future due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 16 March the Football Federation of Kazakhstan suspended all football until 15 April. On 26 June, it was announced that the league would resume on 1 July, with no fans being permitted to watch the games. The league was suspended for a second time on 3 July, for an initial two weeks, due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in the country. Kazakhstan Premier League
The Kazakhstan Professional Football League ( kk, Қазақстан Премьер Лигасы, ''Qazaqstan Premer Ligasy''), commonly referred to as Kazakh Premier League or simply Premier League, is the top division of football in Kazakhstan. The League is controlled by the Football Federation of Kazakhstan and was set up in 1992. The League is fed into by the First Division and starts in spring and finishes in late autumn because of the low temperatures in the winter, with each championship corresponding to a calendar year. Pavlodar ( ; ) is a city in northeastern Kazakhstan and the capital of Pavlodar Region. Zhastar Stadium
Zhas Kanat Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Aktau, Kazakhstan. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of FC Caspiy. History The stadium was opened on April 19, 1995. The stadium's first match was held between " Munayshy" and " Elimay". In 2014, the authorities announced a possible transfer of the Zhas Kanat Stadium into private hands which caused a lot of indignation among parents of children training at the stadium, as well as among the coaches of the sports departments. The Kazakhstan Football Federation banned championship and cup matches at the stadium in early 2017 because of its inappropriate surface. Aktau
Aktau ( kk, Aqtau, Ақтау , russian: Актау) is a city in Kazakhstan, located on the eastern shore of the Caspian Sea. Its current name means "white mountain" in Kazakh, which may be due to its cliffs that overlook the Caspian. From 1964 to 1991, the city was known as Shevchenko. The Astana Arena ( kk, Астана Арена) is a football stadium in Astana, Kazakhstan. The stadium holds 30,000 and has a retractable roof. It serves as the national stadium for the Kazakhstan national football team.
