2020 Carlton Football Club Season
The 2020 Carlton Football Club season was the Carlton Football Club's 157th season of competition. The season was disrupted and partially curtailed by the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the club's men's team's 124th season as a member of the Australian Football League. The team finished 11th out of eighteen teams with a 7–10 record in the 2020 AFL season. It was the club's women's team's fourth season as a member of the AFL Women's competition. The team reached the preliminary finals of the 2020 AFL Women's season, before the onset of the pandemic saw the season cancelled without the premiership being awarded. Perth Stadium, currently known as Optus Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is a multi-purpose stadium in Perth, Western Australia, located in the suburb of Burswood. Shane Watson (footballer)
Shane Watson (born 17 February 1974) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He previously served as the forwards coach of the North Melbourne Football Club. Watson came to Collingwood from Montmorency and had an eventful start to his AFL career. He had just turned 18 when he made his league debut against the Brisbane Bears and kicked two goals, in addition to four behinds. Two weeks later, he kicked five goals in a win over Essendon at Waverley. He had a good season as a half back flanker in 1993, finishing second in Collingwood's "Best and Fairest" voting after averaging 16 disposals for the year. Geelong Falcons
The Geelong Falcons is a youth Australian rules football representative club in the NAB League, the Victorian statewide under-18s competition, Victoria, Australia. The club takes in talented junior players from the Geelong, Colac and Warrnambool regions in order to prepare them for AFL selection. There is an under-15 V-Line cup side and an under-16 side, but the club's main focus is its under-18 side, who play a longer season. In 2007, Jimmy Bartel became the first ex-Falcon to win the AFL Brownlow Medal, for the league's best and fairest player, while Jonathan Brown became the first ex-Falcon to win the Coleman Medal for the most goals in the season. Luke Power (born 8 January 1980) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Brisbane Lions and Greater Western Sydney Giants in the Australian Football League (AFL). Henry Playfair
Henry Playfair (born 22 January 1983) is the former the Head of Coaching Performance at the Carlton Football Club having previously been an assistant coach at the St Kilda Football Club and an Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League. Playfair grew up around the town of Holbrook, New South Wales, Holbrook in the Riverina region of New South Wales. Career Drafted by the Geelong Cats in the 2001 AFL Draft at pick number 41, he debuted in Round 15 of the 2003 season at Telstra Dome. Brendon Bolton
Brendon Bolton (born 18 April 1979) is an Australian rules football coach who is currently serving as the director of coaching with the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League. Bolton previously was the head coach of the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League, having served in the role from 2016 to 2019. Prior to serving in this role, he served as the head coach of Victorian Football League club Box Hill from November 2008 to October 2010, guiding the club to two consecutive finals series in his two seasons in charge. The 2020 Victorian Football League season, which was to have been the 139th season of the Victorian Football Association/Victorian Football League Australian rules football competition, was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
