2019–20 Wichita State Shockers Men's Basketball Team
The 2019–20 Wichita State Shockers men's basketball team represented Wichita State University in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They played their home games at Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kansas and were led by head coach Gregg Marshall, who coached in his 13th and final season at the school. They are members of the American Athletic Conference. Previous season The Shockers finished the 2018–19 season 22–15, 10–8 in AAC play and finished in sixth place. In the first round of the AAC tournament the Shockers would go on to win against the 11 seeded East Carolina, would beat Temple in the quarterfinals, but would lose in the semifinals to the eventual champions of the AAC, Cincinnati. Gregg Marshall
Michael Gregg Marshall (born February 27, 1963) is an American college basketball coach whose most recent position was head coach at Wichita State University. Marshall has coached his teams to appearances in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament in 14 of 22 years as a head coach. He is the winningest head coach in Wichita State and Winthrop history with 331 and 194 wins, respectively. He resigned on November 17, 2020, after an internal investigation following allegations by multiple former players detailing physical and verbal abuse at the hands of Marshall. Marshall was paid a settlement of $7,750,000 by Wichita State for his resignation. The 2018–19 Indiana Hoosiers men's basketball team represented Indiana University in the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Their head coach was Archie Miller, his second year as Indiana head coach. The team played its home games at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Indiana, as a member of the Big Ten Conference. The season officially kicked off with its annual event, Hoosier Hysteria, on September 29, 2018. Despite getting off to a strong start of 12–2, which included 3 conference wins, IU struggled mightily down the backstretch of the season. Riddled with injuries and the inability to shoot, the Hoosiers lost 12 of 13 games before turning things around and finishing the regular season with a 4-game winning streak.
