2019–20 Tulane Green Wave Men's Basketball Team
The 2019–20 Tulane Green Wave men's basketball team represents Tulane University during the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Green Wave, led by first-year head coach Ron Hunter, play their home games at Devlin Fieldhouse in New Orleans, Louisiana as sixth-year members of the American Athletic Conference. Previous season The Green Wave 4–27, 0–18 in AAC play to finish in 12th place. They lost in the first round of the AAC tournament to Memphis. On March 16, 2019, the school announced that Mike Dunleavy would not return as head coach. He finished 24–69 in three seasons at Tulane. On March 24, the school named Georgia State head coach Ron Hunter the new head coach. Ron Hunter
Ronald Eugene Hunter (born April 7, 1964) is an American college basketball coach and the current men's basketball head coach of the Tulane University Green Wave. His son, R. J. Hunter, was a first-round draft pick for the Boston Celtics. High school Hunter attended and played for Chaminade-Julienne High School in Dayton, Ohio from 1978 to 1982. Coaching career IUPUI From 1994 to 2011, Hunter served as the head coach at IUPUI. Under his direction, the team advanced from an NAIA program to NCAA Division I. In its third season as a Division I program, Hunter led IUPUI to its first, and thus far only, NCAA tournament appearance in 2003. On January 24, 2008, Hunter coached a game against Oakland University while barefoot. He did this to benefit Samaritan's Feet, a foundation that works to provide hope and love to impoverished children around the world by washing their feet and giving them a new pair of shoes. Caleb Daniels
Caleb Daniels (born May 17, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Tulane Green Wave and Villanova Wildcats. High school career Daniels attended St. Augustine High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. He averaged 20 points per game as a junior. As a senior, he averaged 19 points and 12 rebounds per game, leading the Purple Knights to the Division I semifinals. Daniels was selected to the All-Metro team by The Times-Picayune. He was named to the second team all-state in the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 5A, and he was voted Most Valuable Player in the Catholic League. Lithonia (, ; AAVE: ) is a city in eastern DeKalb County, Georgia, United States. The city's population was 2,662 at the 2020 census. Lithonia is in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
