2019–20 Radford Highlanders Men's Basketball Team
The 2019–20 Radford Highlanders men's basketball team represented Radford University in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Highlanders, led by ninth-year head coach Mike Jones (basketball, born 1965), Mike Jones, played their home games at the Dedmon Center in Radford, Virginia, as members of the Big South Conference. They finished the season 21–11, 15–3 in Big South play to win a share of the regular season championship. Mike Jones (basketball, Born 1965)
Michael Ray Jones (born April 30, 1965) is a current college basketball head coach. Jones’ father, Jimmy, was a star guard in the ABA from 1967-74. In 1974, Jimmy Jones signed with the Washington Bullets in the NBA, where he remained until 1977. Mike Jones spent 10 years as head men's basketball coach at Radford. During his time there, he was named Big South Conference Coach of the Year in 2018 and 2020. While at Radford, Jones coached Javonte Green, Radford's first NBA Player. Green, who went undrafted in 2015, made his NBA debut with the Boston Celtics in 2019 and currently plays for the Chicago Bulls. The 2018–19 Charleston Southern Buccaneers men's basketball team represented Charleston Southern University during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Buccaneers, led by 14th-year head coach Barclay Radebaugh, played their home games at the CSU Field House in North Charleston, South Carolina as members of the Big South Conference. They finished the season 18–16, 9–7 in Big South play to finish in a four-way tie for fifth place.
