2019–20 New York Knicks Season
The 2019–20 New York Knicks season was the 74th season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Following a league-worst 17–65 record in the previous season, the Knicks had a 14 percent chance of receiving the first overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft. During the NBA draft lottery held on May 14, 2019, the Knicks received the third overall pick. On December 6, 2019, head coach David Fizdale was fired by the Knicks after a 4–18 start, and Mike Miller was named the Knicks' interim head coach. On February 4, 2020, general manager Scott Perry took over basketball operations duties on an interim basis after the Knicks fired president Steve Mills. On March 2, Leon Rose was named as permanent replacement for Mills. David Fizdale
David Sean Fizdale (born June 16, 1974) is an American professional basketball manager. He is currently the assistant general manager for the Utah Jazz. He previously was an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers, the head coach for the New York Knicks and Memphis Grizzlies, and was an assistant coach for the Atlanta Hawks, Golden State Warriors and the Miami Heat. He won two championships with the Heat in 2012 and 2013. Career Born in Los Angeles, Fizdale attended John C. The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) is a labor union that represents National Basketball Association (NBA) players. It was founded in 1954, making it the oldest trade union of the four major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada. NBA G League
The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) official List of developmental and minor sports leagues, minor league basketball organization. The league was known as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) from 2001 to 2005, and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) from 2005 until 2017. The league started with eight teams until NBA commissioner David Stern announced a plan to expand the NBA D-League to 15 teams and develop it into a true minor league farm team, farm system, with each NBA D-League team affiliated with one or more NBA teams in March 2005. Pat Sullivan (basketball)
Patrick Sullivan (born December 15, 1971) is an American basketball coach, currently serving as the Director of Recruiting at his alma mater, North Carolina. He joined the staff of former teammate Hubert Davis in April 2021, a move that was confirmed by the school that May. In his Tar Heel playing career, Sullivan was a member of three Final Four teams, including the 1992–93 team that won the national championship. Royal Terence Ivey (born December 20, 1981) is an American professional basketball coach and former player who is an assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is also the head coach of the South Sudanese national basketball team. He played college basketball for the Texas Longhorns before spending 10 years in the NBA. Victor Kaleb Canales (born July 7, 1978) is an American basketball coach who last served as assistant coach for the Indiana Pacers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Early career Born in Laredo, Texas, Canales is a graduate of John B. Alexander High School. He graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in kinesiology. He later earned a master's degree in sports leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University. Canales began his coaching career as an assistant coach in 2001 at United High School of Laredo. Keith Ramon Bogans (born May 12, 1980) is an American former basketball player who last served as an assistant coach for the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for Kentucky. School and college career Bogans attended The Langley School in McLean, Virginia and DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland, and was an All-American first team honoree in his senior year.
