2019–20 Minnesota Timberwolves Season
The 2019–20 Minnesota Timberwolves season was the 31st season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The season was suspended by the league officials following the games of March 11 after it was reported that Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19. On June 4, 2020, the season came to an end for the Timberwolves when the NBA Board of Governors approved a plan that would restart the season with 22 teams returning to play on July 31, 2020 in the NBA Bubble, which was approved by the National Basketball Players Association the next day. Due to their poor record, the Timberwolves season came to an end. However the Timberwolves won the draft lottery giving them the 1st pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Ryan Saunders
Ryan Philip Saunders (born April 28, 1986) is an American basketball assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is known for his work as a Head coach for the Minnesota Timberwolves and in player development with the Washington Wizards staff. He is the son of longtime NBA coach Flip Saunders. Early life Born in Medina, Minnesota, Saunders graduated from Wayzata High School in Plymouth, Minnesota in 2004. College playing career A walk-on, Saunders played basketball at the University of Minnesota from 2004 to 2008 as a guard. He played only 20 games in his first two seasons in a backup role. He is currently the head coach of Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA G League. Nazreon Hilton Reid (born August 26, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Minnesota Timberwolves of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the LSU Tigers. High school career Reid grew up in Asbury Park, New Jersey and attended Roselle Catholic High School. Following his senior season, in which he averaged 14.8 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game, Reid was invited to the 2018 McDonald's All-American Boys Game. Jarrett Culver (born February 20, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA), on a two-way contract with the College Park Skyhawks of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Early life Culver was born to Regina and Hiawatha Culver Jr. in Dallas, Texas. Jake Douglas Layman (born March 7, 1994) is an American professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the Maryland Terrapins. Layman was drafted with the 47th overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft by the Orlando Magic before being traded to the Portland Trail Blazers on draft night. Karl-Anthony Towns Jr. (born November 15, 1995), sometimes known as KAT (his initials), is a Dominican-American professional basketball player for the Minnesota Timberwolves of the National Basketball Association (NBA). NBA G League
The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) official List of developmental and minor sports leagues, minor league basketball organization. The league was known as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) from 2001 to 2005, and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) from 2005 until 2017. The league started with eight teams until NBA commissioner David Stern announced a plan to expand the NBA D-League to 15 teams and develop it into a true minor league farm team, farm system, with each NBA D-League team affiliated with one or more NBA teams in March 2005. David Vanterpool (born March 31, 1973) is an American professional basketball coach and former player. He most recently served as an assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
