2019–20 Lechia Gdańsk Season
The 2019–20 Lechia Gdańsk season was the club's 76th season of existence, and their 12th continuous in the top flight of Polish football. The season covered the period from 1 July 2019 to 31 July 2020. Season information Due to the COVID-19 pandemic Polish authorities announced on 10 March 2020 that all Ekstraklasa, I liga, and Polish Cup fixtures would be played behind closed doors without fans in attendance. Lechia played Piast Gliwice in the Polish Cup behind closed doors, before an announcement was made on 14 March that all games would be postponed until the end of March. The postponement was further delayed on 20 March with no games being played until at least 26 April. Games were allowed to resume again from 29 May, 12 weeks after the season was postponed. Lechia Gdańsk
Lechia Gdańsk () is a Polish football club based in Gdańsk. The club was founded in 1945 by people expelled from Lwów, who were supporters of Poland's oldest football team Lechia Lwów, founded in 1903. The club's name comes from Lechia, a poetic name for Poland, and is a continuation of the name used by the club based in Lwów. In their early years, Lechia enjoyed some success, most notably finishing third in the Polish top division, before spending decades in the second and third tiers. In the early 1980s, Lechia won the Polish Cup, the Polish SuperCup, and played in a European competition for the first time. After having two mergers with other teams in the 1990s the club had to restart from the sixth tier in 2001. COVID-19 Pandemic In Poland
The COVID-19 pandemic in Poland is part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 () caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (). Egy Maulana Vikri (born 7 July 2000) is an Indonesian professional footballer who plays as a winger for the Indonesia national team. Patryk Lipski (born 12 June 1994) is a Polish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Polish side Widzew Łódź. Career Lipski started his career with Ruch Chorzów. On 12 August 2017, Lipski agreed a deal to join Lechia Gdańsk. In August 2020, he became a player of Piast Gliwice, and he left the club by mutual consent at the end of February 2022. Omran Haydary (Dari: ; born 13 January 1998) is an Afghan professional footballer who plays for I liga side Arka Gdynia, on loan from Lechia Gdańsk, and the Afghanistan national team.
