2019–20 Kategoria E Parë
The 2019–20 Kategoria e Parë was the 72nd official season of the Albanian football second-tier since its establishment. The season began on 14 September 2019 and ended on 29 July 2020. There were 20 teams competing this season, split in 2 groups, each with 10 teams. The 2 winners of each group gained promotion to the 2020-21 Kategoria Superiore, and played the division's final against each other. The runners-up of each group played a play-off match between them. The winners of the play-off played another promotion play-off match against the 8th ranked team of the 2019–20 Kategoria Superiore. Apolonia and Kastrioti were promoted to the 2020–21 Kategoria Superiore. Devolli, Iliria, Shënkolli, Shkumbini and Tërbuni were relegated to the 2020–21 Kategoria e Dytë. Apolonia won their fifth Kategoria e Parë title on 22 July 2020 after beating Kastrioti in the final match. Kategoria E Parë
Kategoria e Parë is the second level of professional football in Albania, behind the Kategoria Superiore and above the Kategoria e Dytë. Format Kategoria e Parë was founded in 1930. It is made up of 14 teams. The 2 best ranked teams gain promotion to the Kategoria Superiore, while the teams ranked from the 3rd to the 6th position qualify to a play-off tournament where the winner then plays a promotion play-off match against the 8th ranked team of Kategoria Superiore. The teams that finish in the 4 last positions get relegated to the Kategoria e Dytë. The 9th and 10th ranked teams, qualify to the relegation play-off round. The 2020–21 Kategoria e Parë was the 73rd official season of the Albanian football second-tier since its establishment. The season began on 4 November 2020 and ended on 26 May 2021. There were 18 teams competing this season, split in 2 groups, each with 9 teams. The 2 winners of each group gained promotion to the 2021-22 Kategoria Superiore, and played the division's final against each other. The runners-up of each group played a play-off match between them. The winners of the play-off played another promotion play-off match against the 8th ranked team of the 2020–21 Kategoria Superiore. Dinamo Tirana and Egnatia were promoted to the 2021–22 Kategoria Superiore. Elbasani, Flamurtari, Oriku, Partizani B and Veleçiku were relegated to the 2021–22 Kategoria e Dytë. Klubi i Futbollit Burreli is an Albanian football club based in Burrel, Mat District. Their home ground is the Liri Ballabani Stadium and they compete in the Kategoria e Parë. History The club was founded in 1928, but was not an organised club until 1935 under the name ''Deja Burrel''. The name was changed in 1945 to ''31 Korriku Burreli'', which was again changed in 1951 to ''Puna Burrel''. Between 1958 and 1991 the club was renamed ''31 Korriku Burrel'' before changing to its current name ''Burreli''. The club competed in the lower leagues of Albania until 1981 when they participated in the Albanian National Championship for the first time. KF Tomori is an Albanian football club based in the city of Berat. The club's home ground is the Tomori Stadium and they currently participate in the Kategoria e Parë. History The sport of football was introduced to the city of Berat in the early 1910s by students who had completed their studies abroad. They brought back footballs and the rules of the game from their travels which they then passed onto the locals. As early as 1913, amateur neighbourhood teams were formed, such as Çunat e Lumit, Vakëfi, Kalaja and Opinga. In 1923, an artists and sports club was founded in Berat, under the name Tomori, named after the nearby Mount Tomorr. Kategoria e Dytë is the third professional level of football in Albania. It was called the ''Second Division'' until 2003. Kategoria e Dytë has two groups, A and B. which are divided geographically. It is made up of 23 teams. The winners of each group earn the right to be promoted to the Kategoria e Parë and they also play a single final for seasonal champions. It is the association football branch of the Vllaznia Sports Club, which was founded on 16 February 1919. It is also the oldest club in Albania which means it is the first club created in Albania. KF Bylis, also known as Bylis Ballsh, is an Albanian football club based in Ballsh, Mallakastër District. The club's home ground is the Adush Muça Stadium and they currently compete in the Kategoria Superiore. History Early history The club was formed in September 1972 as Ballshi i Ri, and they played in the Albanian Third Division between 1973 and 1976. But between 1976 and 1981, they were not allowed to participate in Albanian football due to laws restricting a single team from each district. The 2020-21 Kategoria e Dytë was the 49th official season of the Albanian football third division since its establishment. There were 27 teams competing this season, split in 2 groups. The winners of the groups played the league's final against each other and also gained promotion to the 2021-22 Kategoria e Parë. Teams ranked from the 2nd to the 5th position qualified to the play-off round which they played against the 7th ranked teams in the 2020-21 Kategoria e Parë. Butrinti, Maliqi, Shkumbini and Tërbuni were promoted to the 2021–22 Kategoria e Parë. Shkumbini won their second Kategoria e Dytë title after beating Maliqi in the final match. KF Shkumbini is an Albanian football club based in the city of Peqin. The club's home ground is the Shkumbini Stadium and they compete in the Kategoria e Dytë. History Football was first introduced to the city of Peqin in the early 1920s after an army officer from Shkodër brought along a ball with him. An amateur club was formed in 1924 by Adem Bedali and other local men who had begun playing football. In the club's infancy they played friendly games with teams from other cities in Albania, before the creation of the Albanian Football Association in 1930 who organised the first official football competitions in the country.
