2019–20 Georgia Bulldogs Basketball Team
The 2019–20 Georgia bulldogs basketball team represented the University of Georgia during the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team's head coach was Tom Crean, in his second year at Georgia. They played their home games at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Georgia as members of the Southeastern Conference. They finished the season 16–16, 5–13 in SEC play to finish in 13th place. They defeated Ole Miss in the first round of the SEC tournament and were set to take on Florida in the second round. However, the remainder of the SEC Tournament was cancelled amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Previous season The Bulldogs finished the 2018–19 season 11–21, 2–16 in SEC play to finish in thirteenth place. Tom Crean (basketball)
Thomas Aaron Crean (born March 25, 1966) is a college basketball coach. Most recently, he was the head coach for the Georgia Bulldogs basketball, University of Georgia men's basketball team. Crean was previously the head coach of Indiana Hoosiers men's basketball, Indiana University. Prior to that, he served as head coach at Marquette Golden Eagles men's basketball, Marquette University (1999–2008), where his team reached the 2003 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, 2003 NCAA Final Four. Crean's basketball philosophy emphasizes fast breaks and transition offense. His guidance of the Indiana program to success from "unthinkable depths" was regarded as one of the most remarkable rebuilding projects in NCAA basketball history. Lithonia, Georgia
Lithonia (, ; AAVE: ) is a city in eastern DeKalb County, Georgia, United States. The city's population was 2,662 at the 2020 census. Lithonia is in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Derek Ogbeide
Derek Ik Ogbeide (born March 28, 1997) is a Nigerian-Canadian professional basketball player for Pistoia Basket 2000 of the Lega Basket Serie A (LBA). High School career Ogbeide played in grade 9 and 10 for Monsignor Percy Johnson Catholic Secondary School in Toronto, Canada. 2019 NBA Draft
The 2019 NBA draft was held on June 20, 2019. It took place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. National Basketball Association (NBA) teams took turns selecting amateur United States college basketball players and other eligible players, including international players.
