2019–20 Danish Women's League
The 2019–20 Elitedivisionen also known as Gjensidige Kvindeligaen is the 48th season of the highest women's football league in Denmark and is currently contested by 8 teams each year in Denmark. Brøndby IF are the defending champions and FC Nordsjælland made their debut in the league. Fortuna Hjørring won the league for the 11th time in the club's history, while Odense Q and Ballerup-Skovlunde Fodbold relegated to Kvinde 1. division. Effects of the COVID-19 pandemic On 6 March 2020, all sport in Denmark were locked down and banned during the coronavirus pandemic, until mid of April. In May, it was announced that the season would restart on 6 June and the remaining matches of the season would be played behind closed doors. The Championship round and the Qualification round, were reduced from a total of 10 matches to 5 matches, per team. Elitedivisionen
The Danish Women's League ( da, Danmarksturneringens Kvindeliga, Kvinde-DM Liga or Kvindeligaen) is a semi-professional top-flight league for women's football in Denmark. It is organised by the Danish Football Association (DBU) as part of the nation-wide Danmarksturneringen i kvindefodbold (Kvinde-DM) and is placed as the first division of the Danish football league system. Clubs in the league must meet certain criteria concerning appropriate facilities and finances. All of the league's clubs qualify for the proper rounds of the DBU KvindePokalen. The top teams of each season qualify for the UEFA Women's Champions League. The division has changed its name on several occasions. TV 2 (''TV to'') is a Danish government-owned broadcast and subscription television station in Denmark based in Odense, Funen. History Since 1949, Danmarks Radio had been the sole provider of television in Denmark. Wanting to end the monopoly, the Danish Parliament voted on 30 May 1986, to create TV2, as a second choice for public service television. Upon its establishment, it had first begun its experimental test transmissions, and then, two years later, it had therefore commenced its official broadcast on 1 October 1988, with its first program being ''Danish Symphony'' which is broadcast at 17:00, followed by the news at 19:30. Farum Park
Right to Dream Park, historically known as Farum Park, is a football stadium, located in Farum, Denmark, and is the home ground of FC Nordsjælland. It has a capacity of 10,300 of which 9,800 are seated. Farum Park is the first stadium in the Danish Superliga with an artificial turf, installed in 2012. The grass is from Limonta Sport - a leading company in the production and distribution of synthetic grass for sports. Farum Park is a modern stadium with LED-banners, a hotel with 35 rooms and a fitness center. The Capital Region of Denmark ( da, Region Hovedstaden, ) is the easternmost administrative region of Denmark. VSK Aarhus (women)
VSK Aarhus (earlier IK Skovbakken) is a Denmark, Danish women's association football, women's football team from Risskov, Aarhus. It is the women's section of VSK Aarhus. The team was originally created as the women's football section of Hjortshøj-Egå IF, a.k.a. HEI Aarhus. It was the leading team in the 1980s, winning eight championships between 1982 and 1991 including a six-year winning streak. It subsequently won the two first editions of the Danish Women's Cup, national cup in 1993 and 1994, and two more championships in 1997 and 1998. In 2002 the team was transferred to IK Skovbakken. It won its first title as such, its third national cup, in 2009. It also reached the final in 2003, 2006 and 2010.
