2019 Women's NORCECA Volleyball Championship
The 2019 Women's NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the 26th edition of the tournament, and was played from 8 October to 13 October 2019 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Dominican Republic defeated the United States by 3–2 to win the Continental Championship. Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic qualified for the NORCECA Olympic Qualifier, which will see the four teams compete for a spot in the 2020 Olympics. Dominican Brayelin Martínez earned the Most Valuable Player award. Brayelin Martínez
Brayelin Elizabeth Martínez (born September 11, 1996, in Santo Domingo) is a Dominican volleyball player who won the bronze medal in the Volleyball at the 2015 Pan American Games – Women's tournament, 2015 Pan American Games as a member of the Dominican Republic women's national volleyball team, Dominican Republic national team. She played in the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship, 2014 Senior World Championship and the 2011 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup, 2011 and 2015 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup, 2015 FIVB World Cup. Jordyn Poulter
Jordyn Ashley Poulter (born July 31, 1997) is an American volleyball player for the United States women's national volleyball team. Poulter played collegiate volleyball with the University of Illinois Fighting Illini from 2015 to 2018. Poulter won gold with the national team at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. Early life Poulter was born in Naperville, Illinois and grew up in Aurora, Colorado, attending Eaglecrest High School. She was the overall No. 3 nationally (and top setter) ranked recruit coming out of high school and won several state and national awards, including the Andi Collins award for the best setter in the country. Shara Venegas (born September 18, 1992) is a Puerto Rican volleyball player. She is a member of the Puerto Rico women's national volleyball team and played for Criollas de Caguas in 2014. Justine Wong-Orantes (born October 6, 1995) is an American volleyball player. She is a libero. In 2021, she became a gold medalist at both the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo and the Volleyball Nations League in Rimini. Career Early life and high school Wong-Orantes is of Filipino-Chinese descent on her mother's side and of Mexican descent on her father's side. Both of her parents, Winnie Wong and Robert Orantes, were volleyball players. Her father also coached the Mizuno Long Beach volleyball club. Karsta Frances Lowe (born February 2, 1993) is an American volleyball player who was a First Team All-American at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and, as a member of the United States women's national volleyball team, won the gold medal at the 2015 FIVB World Grand Prix and was honored as the Most Valuable Player and the bronze medal at the 2015 World Cup and the 2016 Rio Olympics. Women's NORCECA Volleyball Championship
The NORCECA Women's Volleyball Championship is the official competition for senior women's national volleyball teams of North America, Central America and the Caribbean, organized by the North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA).
