2019 Women's African Olympic Qualifier
The 2019 Women's African Olympic Qualifier was the fourth edition of the African qualification tournament for the women's field hockey event at the Summer Olympics. It was held alongside the men's tournament in Stellenbosch, South Africa from 12 to 18 August 2019. The winner of the tournament qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics. South Africa won the tournament for the fourth time. Teams The following seven teams, shown with pre-tournament FIH World Rankings, were expected to participate in the tournament. Mavis is a female given name, derived from a name for the common Old World song thrush. Nicola Watson (field Hockey)
Nicola Jane Watson (born 10 July 1955) is a Zimbabwean accountant and politician who served as a Member of the National Assembly of Zimbabwe from 2013 until 2023. She was first elected to one of the seats reserved for women, then as the MP for Bulawayo Central in 2018, before defeating the Zanu-PF incumbent Raj Modi in Bulawayo South in 2023. Early life Nicola Watson was born on 10 July 1955 in Bulawayo, Matabeleland in what was then Southern Rhodesia. She attended Hillside Primary School and then Townsend Secondary School. Debora Whyte
Debora Racing cars is a small French car builder, popular with private racing teams, based in Besançon, France. Teams generally use their chassis to take part in Le Mans style endurance racing such as Magny Cours, Jarama and le Mans. Drivers also tend to be French with Bruno Boccard and David Dusseau being two of the more famous. Debora use an LMP Le Mans Prototype type 1 body shell over a mid-engined chassis with open driving seat in the bodywork. Their Type 2 LMP with closed bodywork owes much to the Courage and is a truly beautiful piece of engineering.
