2019 Volta A Catalunya
The 2019 Volta a Catalunya was a road cycling stage race, that took place between 25 and 31 March 2019 in Spain. It was the 99th edition of Volta a Catalunya and the ninth race of the 2019 UCI World Tour. It was won by Miguel Ángel López of . Teams The 18 UCI WorldTeams were automatically invited to the race. In addition seven second-tier UCI Continental Circuits received a wildcard invitation to participate in the event. 2019 UCI World Tour
The 2019 UCI World Tour was a series of races that included thirty-eight road cycling events throughout the 2019 men's cycling season. It was the first time since the World Tour was launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2009 that it was not a ranking competition in its own right. The tour started with the opening stage of the Tour Down Under on 15 January and concluded with the final stage of the Tour of Guangxi on 22 October. Events The 2019 calendar was initially announced in June 2018, with the Abu Dhabi Tour being replaced with the UAE Tour, following its merger with the Dubai Tour. In September 2018, the Three Days of Bruges–De Panne was promoted to World Tour level, having been a 1.HC-categorised race in 2018. In November 2018, the Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey was announced to be moving back to April, after the two most recent editions were held in October. Grega Bole
Grega Bole (born 13 August 1985 in Jesenice, Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Yugoslavia) is a Slovenian professional road bicycle racer, who most recently rode for UCI WorldTeam . His biggest victory is the 2011 GP Ouest–France, where he launched a solo attack with to go. He held on as the field was closing in rapidly, with only Simon Gerrans who was second on the day being awarded the same time as Bole. Vila-seca (; literally 'Dry-town') is a municipality of the ''comarca'' of Tarragonès, in the province of Tarragona, in Catalonia, Spain. Valls () is a city and municipality in the province of Tarragona in Catalonia, Spain. According to the 2014 census it has a population of 24,570. Maximilian Schachmann (born 9 January 1994) is a German cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . In 2012, he was nominated Germany's 'Cyclist of the Year'. He rode in the 2018 Giro d'Italia, where he won stage 18. Early life Schachmann was born in Berlin and grew up on the outskirts of the city. Sant Cugat del Vallès (; es, San Cugat del Vallés, link=no) is a town and municipality north of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Puigcerdà
Puigcerdà (; es, Puigcerdá) is the capital of the '' Catalan comarca'' of Cerdanya, in the province of Girona, Catalonia, northern Spain, near the Segre River and on the border with France (it abuts directly onto the French town of Bourg-Madame). History Puigcerdà is located near the site of a Ceretani settlement, which was incorporated into Roman territory. The Roman town was named Julia Libyca. La Molina (ski Resort)
La Molina is a ski resort in the Pyrenees mountains of northeastern Spain, in the municipality of Alp in the ''comarca'' of Cerdanya in Girona, Catalonia. Together with Masella, it forms the Alp 2500 resort. It is the site of the first ski lift in Spain, opened on 28 February 1943, and Spain's first ski school, which opened a year later. It is served by a RENFE / Rodalies train station. Sport and recreation The area hosted World Cup alpine races in December 2008 (women's technical events) and hosted the Snowboarding World Championships in January 2011.
