2019 Virginia Tech Hokies Women's Soccer Team
The 2019 Virginia Tech Hokies women's soccer team represented Virginia Tech during the 2019 NCAA Division I women's soccer season. It was the 27th season of the university fielding a program and 16th competing in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Hokies were led by 9th year head coach Charles Adair and played their home games at Thompson Field. The Hokies finished the season 12–5–2, 4–4–2 in ACC play to finish in a tie for eight place. They were not invited to the ACC Tournament. They received an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament where they lost to Xavier in the First Round. Charles Adair (soccer)
Charles "Chugger" Adair (born August 11, 1971) is a retired American association football, soccer player and current soccer coach. He spent two seasons in the Continental Indoor Soccer League, two in the National Professional Soccer League (1984–2001), National Professional Soccer League and seven in the USISL A-League / USL First Division. Early life and education Adair grew up in Chula Vista where he played soccer as a youth. When he was five, he underwent open heart surgery. Adair attended Hilltop High School (Chula Vista, California), Hilltop High School. He was inducted into the Hilltop Hall of Fame in 2001. In 1989, he entered San Diego State University where he played one seasons with the men's soccer team. He then transferred to the University of San Diego and played with the Toreros for three seasons. Cincinnati Bearcats Women's Soccer
The Cincinnati Bearcats are the athletic teams that represent the University of Cincinnati. Though they will move to the Big 12 Conference (XII) the teams are currently a part of the American Athletic Conference (The American), which from 1979 to 2013 was known as the Big East Conference. Cincinnati and Wichita State University are currently the only members of The American that are located in the Midwestern United States; all other members are in the Northeast or South. Klöckner Stadium is a multi-purpose sports stadium located on the campus of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. The stadium is home to the Virginia Cavaliers's men's and women's soccer team in the fall, and the men's and women's lacrosse teams in the spring. The 2019 Virginia Cavaliers women's soccer team represented University of Virginia during the 2019 NCAA Division I women's soccer season. The Cavaliers were led by head coach Steve Swanson, in his nineteenth season. They played home games at Klöckner Stadium. This was the team's 34th season playing organized men's college soccer and their 32nd playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference The Cavaliers finished the season 17–2–3, 6–0–3 in ACC play to finish in third place. As the third seed in the ACC Tournament, they defeated Duke in the quarterfinals and Florida State in the semifinals. In the final, they ended up losing to North Carolina.
