The 2019 season was Viking's 1st year back in Eliteserien, after being promoted last season. It was the club's 69th season in the top flight of Norwegian football. The club participated in the Eliteserien and the Norwegian Cup. Viking Fotballklubb, commonly known as Viking or Viking Stavanger internationally, is a Norwegian football club from the city of Stavanger. The club was founded in 1899. It is one of the most successful clubs in Norwegian football, having won 8 Norwegian top division titles, most recently in 1991, and 6 domestic Norwegian Cup titles, most recently in 2019. The club has played more top-flight league games than any other club in Norway. It has played in the top division since the league was established, except for the years 1966–67, 1987–88 and 2018. Axel Óskar Andrésson
Axel Óskar Andrésson (born 27 January 1998) is an Icelandic professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Superettan club Örebro. Club career Axel started his career in the youth team of local side Ungmennafélagið Afturelding before he was promoted to the first team at only the age of sixteen, going on to represent the side eleven times in the 2014 2. deild karla season. Harald Nilsen Tangen
Harald Nilsen Tangen (born 3 January 2001) is a Norwegian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Viking FK. Career In 2016, Nilsen Tangen signed for Viking FK. He made his league debut for the club in a 4–1 win over FK Jerv on 22 July 2018. On 29 May 2019, he was loaned out to 1. divisjon club Tromsdalen. Ylldren Ibrahimaj (born 24 December 1995) is a professional footballer who plays for Norwegian club Lillestrøm. His primary position is a winger, but he can also play as an attacking or central midfielder. Born in Norway, Ibrahimaj represents Kosovo internationally. Sondre Flem Bjørshol (born 30 April 1994) is a Norwegian footballer who plays as a right-back for Viking FK. Even Østensen
Even Østensen (born 2 June 1993) is a Norwegian footballer who plays as a forward for Staal Jørpeland. Career On 2 August 2018, Østensen signed a six month contract with Viking. He signed a contract extension after the 2018 season. After the 2020 season, his contract expired and he left the club. In January 2021, Østensen announced his retirement from football, however one month later he returned to his former club Staal Jørpeland. Amund Wichne
Amund Wichne (born 12 May 1997) is a Norwegian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Haugesund. Career Wichne signed for Viking in the summer of 2014. In 2016, he was loaned out to Åsane where he would play 4 matches before returning to his parent club. He made his league debut for Viking against Molde on 17 September 2017. Wichne moved to Start in 2020. On 1 March 2022, he terminated his contract with the club. The next day, he signed for Jerv. In January 2023, he signed for Haugesund on a two-year contract. André Danielsen
André Saltvold Danielsen (born 20 January 1985) is a Norwegian former footballer who played as a right-back or central midfielder. Club career Born in Stavanger, Danielsen started his career with Stavanger IF before joining Viking in 2003. In the fall of 2005 he was loaned out to Bryne. Danielsen is the player with the most appearances for Viking of all time with a total of 553 appearances throughout 17 seasons at the club. This number includes league matches, cup matches, European matches and friendly matches. On 28 October 2019, he announced that he would retire from football after the 2019 season. Zlatko Tripić
Zlatko Tripić (born 2 December 1992) is a Norwegian-Bosnian footballer who plays as a winger for Viking FK. Club career Tripić was born in Rijeka, Croatia to Bosnian parents. When he was 9 months old, he moved to Norway with his parents and grew up in Lyngdal, playing youth football for Lyngdal IL. During his youth he attended a lot of Start's home matches. Tommy Høiland
Tommy Høiland (born 11 April 1989) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Sandnes Ulf. Career Høiland started his career at Bryne before moving to Viking, returning to Bryne and then Sandnes Ulf. Fredrik Torsteinbø
Fredrik Torsteinbø (born 13 March 1991) is a Norwegian footballer who plays for Sandnes Ulf. Club career He started his senior career in the Norwegian team Vidar in 2009.
