2019 Rugby Europe Women's Sevens Grand Prix Series
The 2019 Rugby Europe Women's Sevens Grand Prix Series was the 2019 edition of Rugby Europe's annual rugby sevens season. The top placing non-core teams advanced to the 2020 Hong Kong Women's Sevens qualification tournament, and the two teams with the fewest points were relegated to the 2020 Trophy tournament. The Marcoussis leg of the tournament also served as a qualifier to the European qualifiers for the 2020 Summer Olympics, where seven teams aside from Wales and Scotland advanced. Polish Rugby Union (Polish: ''Polski Związek Rugby''), abbreviated to PZR, is the only legal Polish representative of Polish rugby union and rugby sevens for both men and women's rugby and all age groups. History The Polish Rugby Union (Polski Związek Rugby) was founded in 1957, although rugby had already existed in Poland since the 1920s, when in 1921, Louis Amblard, a Frenchman, set up the very first Polish rugby club called "The White Eagles". The first match was in 1922, and the first club international in 1924 against a Romanian side. Maria Beatrice Benvenuti (born 1993) is an Italian rugby union referee. Benvenuti has refereed at the 2016 Olympic Games, the Women's Rugby World Cup in 2014 and 2017 and the Women's Six Nations Championship in 2018 and 2019. She has also refereed at the 2018 Women's Rugby World Cup Sevens and at the 2018 USA Women's Sevens.
